Barbara Hicks Wiktorski Barbara Hicks Wiktorski, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on the morning of October 17, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. She was born on February 1, 1941 to Edward Lee Hicks and Fay Adelaide Lunsford Hicks in Phoenix, Arizona where she was raised with her siblings; Edward, Billie, and Judy Hicks. Barbi graduated from North Phoenix High School before going on to attend Junior College. Barbi worked as a paralegal in real estate law and an administrative assistant throughout her career. She met Daniel Frank Wiktorski in New York and the two were married on April 22, 1967. They moved to Dallas, Texas in 1974 when Dan's work with Xerox transferred to the area. Barbi participated in many worthy social organizations. Barbi was a volunteer at a school for special needs children, a Scout Mom for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, skilled pianist, quilter, painter, and a loving, treasured figure in her own family. She was active with the Pinochle Group, Red Hats, and her beloved Tea Party Ladies. Barbi was also a member of Saint Catherine of Siena where she was involved in Women's Club, Ladies of the Knights, Catechism teacher and Autumnfest. Barbi enjoyed the holidays, crafts, sewing, baking, shopping, traveling, and being with her loved ones as often as possible. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, wife and friend who was cherished by many for her nurturing and giving nature. It was with great strength, grace and faith that Barbi fought a five year battle against bone cancer. She will be remembered for her kindness, patience, creativity, and for her selflessness. She was funny, smart, and always nurturing. To honor her memory would mean being courageous enough to face the world with love and always with a helping hand. Barbara Hicks Wiktorski is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Daniel Wiktorski, son, Daniel Wiktorski Jr. (Donna Miceli), daughter, Julie Bentley (Britt Bentley), grandson, Alex Wiktorski, granddaughter, Lola Bentley, siblings; Edward Lee Hicks Jr., Billie Rawlings, and Judy Dykstra, as well as extended family and dear friends.
