Obituary

William (Bill) McMinn, 87, passed away Sept. 16, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. Born in Tyler, Texas on June 29,1937, Bill lived there most of his early years. He graduated from Tyler High School where he excelled at football and made many lifelong friends. Bill married Gail in 1960, and they remained in Tyler for a few years before moving to Dallas, Houston and Albuquerque, New Mexico, eventually settling in Richardson, Texas when he began his career with Red Coleman's Liquor Stores.

Bill loved his family deeply. He was the best dad and had a very special relationship with his three granddaughters, even stepping up to take care of them after school when his daughter, Lisa, went back to work full time.

He adored Gail, and it never showed more than the last months of her life when she was in and out of the hospital. He never left her side.

Bill is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Mark Wingate, granddaughters, Elizabeth, Emily and Sarah Wingate, sister Delores (Dodie) Reddell, niece, Kathy Arnold, nephews Kevin Gavlak, Kris Gavlak and Tom Ben (Chad) Chadwick III, and several great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gail, parents Edith and Hubert McMinn, in-laws Edna and Tom Chadwick Sr., and brother-in-law Tom Chadwick Jr.
