William ('Bill') Brueggeman was born on February 9, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to parents Elmer and Grace.

He passed away on August 1, 2025, surrounded by family in Dallas, Texas.

Bill was preceded in death by his youngest son, Glen, and by his sister, Barbara.

He is survived by Carolyn, his wife of 63 years, sons Gary and Greg, and many grandchildren.

William received his PhD from The Ohio State University, where he also taught as a professor. He became Professor Emeritus of Real Estate at the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University, where he taught for 40 years. Bill authored or co-authored the book Real Estate Finance & Investments, currently in its 18th edition.
