William Alton
Hill Iii
Feb 11, 1979 — May 16, 2024
A personable and loving young man, Will Hill unexpectedly completed his life journey in early May at his home in Carrollton, Texas. He is survived by his parents of Beaver, Arkansas, William A. Hill, Jr., and Mary Vinyard Hill, his godparents of Alexandria VA, Phillip N. Bennett and Irene Vinyard Bennett, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
From childhood, his family called him W. A., but his teen independence revealed itself when he chose the name Will for himself. His leadership skills were evident early as well. He loved all the activities of Boy Scouts, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed his dogs and gadgets of all types and expressed an interest in futuristic technology, especially robots. After graduating from Southside High School in Ft Smith AR, he began studies in Industrial/Computer Engineering at the University of Arkansas and continued through a BS in International Studies and Business Information Systems and an MBA in International Business from John Brown University. Will's quiet nature and playful sense of humor always delighted his family, friends, and brothers of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
At the First Federal Bank in Fayetteville AR, Will enjoyed working as an administrator in mortgage and real estate construction loans for almost a decade. There he suggested improvements that streamlined one department and led to the creation of another. He moved to the Dallas TX area in 2012 to work with Southern Glazer Wine and Spirits. Again, his leadership skills and creative thinking about processes and services characterized his career as Director of Data Management and Customer Strategy.
Will is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William Alton Hill and Georgene Giltner Hill Thomas, and maternal grandparents, Millo Jackson Vinyard and Lula May Rogers Vinyard.
Will was an adherent of the Episcopal faith, having been christened in the All Saints-Sharon Chapel Church, Alexandria VA, and confirmed at St Bartholomew Church, Ft Smith AR. A private Witness Committal and Cremation in TX will be held Friday, May 24. The internment of ashes will be planned at a later date at St James Episcopal Church, Eureka Springs AR, and at Hoffman Cemetery, Hammond LA.
