On Monday, March 8, 2021, we lost our favorite singer, the life of our party, the captain of our ship, Brock Wilson. He was 53 years old. He is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Lara White Wilson, his son Cameron, a sophomore at Texas Tech, and his daughter, Courtney, a freshman at Highland Park High School. He is additionally survived by his father, William Jerry Wilson, his older brothers, William Jerry Wilson Jr. and Christopher Gordon Wilson, and his three half siblings, Jole' Wilson Link, Katy Wilson Adams, and Cole Wilson. Also, two aunts, one uncle, and ten first cousins. Today, our sadness knows no bounds but going forward on every occasion possible, we will pay forward his love of life and his talent for making others happy. Brock was born in Houston, Texas to Gail Tubbs Douglas and William Jerry Wilson. He graduated from Alief Elsik High School in 1986 where he was a member of the choir, a varsity basketball player, and the lead in the senior play, The Music Man. His love for people and entertaining started young! He still holds the school record for 28 "Most Consecutive Free Throws." Brock went on to receive a Bachelor of Journalism degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1991. While at UT, Brock was a member of the prestigious Texas Cowboys, president of the Longhorn Singers, interned at three local news stations and pursued his passion for golf. Brock was a hard-worker and paid his way through school by waiting tables and bartending at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen. This led to a 13-year career with Pappas Restaurants in Austin and Houston. In 1995, he was promoted to General Manager of Pappasitos 290 in Houston. He was well respected and loved by his staff. In his spare time, Brock learned from the Pappas chefs how to grill the perfect steak. His steaks were famous among friends and family and no one could get enough of his Brockamole! In 2002, Brock changed careers in order to spend more time with his family and became a leasing associate with First Industrial in Houston. He moved up the chain quickly and relocated his family to Dallas to become Senior VP of Asset Management. For the past eight years, Brock has been part of the senior leadership team at Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services. His specialty was handling industrial leasing brokerage assignments. Most recently, he was DCEO Power Broker for 2020 and a Top Producing Broker for Bradford from 2013-2020. 32 years ago, Brock met the love of his life, Lara, as a junior at UT. He always reminded Lara how much he adored her and loved his children with the same devotion. Brock lived life to the fullest and never missed an opportunity to make others happy. His personality filled up a room and he will be greatly missed by so many. A memorial service is to be conducted at 3:30pm on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Highland Park United Methodist Church's main sanctuary, 3300 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, Texas 75205. Masks are required.
