Yoobhadee Buckner

June 10, 1940 – July 19, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Yoobhadee, who left us peacefully on July 19, 2024, at the age of 84. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength.

Born on June 10, 1940, in Bangkok, Thailand, Yoobhadee was the cherished daughter of Boon and Sam Kongkamas. She grew up in Bangkok and graduated with a masters degree from Suan Sunandha Teachers College, where she met many lifelong friends and began her lifelong love of teaching.

Yoobhadee married Prasit Permipat in Bangkok after college. Together they had seven children. After their marriage ended, Yoobhadee continued to teach for many years before meeting the love of her life, Ronald E. Buckner. They were married in Bangkok in 1968, moved back to the United States, and shared a life together for 43 years.

Yoobhadee dedicated her life to her family, always putting their needs above her own. Her nurturing spirit and gentle guidance helped shape the lives of her children and grandchildren, who will forever be grateful for her wisdom and unconditional love.

Yoobhadee is survived by six children, Yingpan Shinkle, Kim (Steven) Selznick, Pat (Charles) Blanton, Paul Permpipat, Yupi (Robert) Schwalm, and Duey (Pamela) Poempipatana, 13 grandchildren, Michelle Soukhavongsa, Jean Shinkle, Christy Sloan, Kimmy Gant, Katie Wells, Anida Blanton, Jennifer Permpipat, Jesse Potter, Amy Daza, Adam Schwalm, Brance Poempiatana, Jared Poempiatana, and Jessica Poempipatana, 20 great grandchildren, Thai, Asia, Charlie, Jeremiah, Joshua, Carter, Marshall, Kendall, Logan, Grayson, Natalia, Adriana, Finn, Sofie, Aila, Kai, Penelope, Olivia, Sylis, and Nixon, who will cherish her memory and strive to honor her legacy. She also leaves behind her niece Oon and great niece Cho and numerous other relatives and friends back in Thailand. Yoobhadee was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, Thu Permpipat.

When not teaching or caring for her family, Yoobhadee loved to travel and to sew, crochet, and knit. She loved animals, especially her beloved dog Duke. She was known to enjoy shopping too. Through her teaching and her Christian faith, Yoobhadee touched many lives with her generosity and compassion.

A celebration of Yoobhadee's life will be held on July 24, 2024, at 11:00am at Aria Funeral Home, 19310 Preston Rd, Dallas, TX 75252, with Dave Birkey officiating. Friends and family are invited to attend and share their memories and stories.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Yoobhadee is now at peace and reunited with those who have gone before her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Rest in peace, Yoobhadee. Your love, grace, and kindness will forever be remembered and cherished.
