Obituary

Frank York peacefully passed away on December 28, 2018 after a long illness, surrounded by everything he loved most in the same Irving neighborhood that watched him grow up. Frank was born in Dallas, Texas on July 8, 1951 to Hazel Tull Foster York and father Luther William York. Frank was a man who loved life and to fully enjoy it with a boundless desire and energy to combine his many passions - bowling, golfing, Corvette's and dogs, throughout his life. With him it was only one speed - fast and all in! Following his time as a member of the PBA - Professional Bowlers Association, he made a shift to a life long sales career while enjoying his passion for cars. Always the salesman whether it was auto or golf related, he turned a hobby of slot cars into a successful Ebay business in the past decade, closing his last sales on December 28th. He would wake up before dawn to be the first one on the golf course and could be counted on to never be late, especially for a tee time. He also met his wife of 28 years on a tee box, six months after taking up the game, spending many weekends and vacations playing 27 or 36 holes of golf in a day on many beautiful golf courses. He lived life big and on his own terms, and we all benefited from joining him on the journey. He had a knack to read people and situations quickly. He was a loyal friend who valued his friendships and maintained long term relationships with those he trusted most. He is survived by his wife Laura, sister Lana and brother-in-law Don, and many nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends. Those who preceded him, including his brother Norman Foster, are part of his past, and those who survive him will miss him and always carry his unique character with them in their fondest and most fun memories. Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life on January 26. Please contact the family for details. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the DFW Humane Society in Irving. Please do not send flowers.
