Obituary
Ronny Rhodes, 66, beloved husband, father and pepa, passed away after a sudden illness on May 20, 2016 at Baylor Scott and White in Grapevine, Tx. Funeral: 1 pm Monday, Aria Cremation Services, 1280 N Belt Line Rd in Irving, Tx. The son of Jack and Wilma Miller Rhodes, Ronny was born in Ft Worth on August 14, 1949. He graduated from Poly High School and served in the U.S. Navy as an aviation ordnanceman from 1969-1973. Ronny graduated from Texas Wesleyan College in 1978. He worked for the IRS for 33 years during which he achieved executive status and the Presidential Rank Award. Ronny was a natural athlete earning awards in baseball in high school and winning many skins from his golf buddies. He enjoyed coaching his children’s softball and baseball teams. His job with the Internal Revenue Service took him all over the United States: Houston, Dallas, Ft Worth, Anchorage, San Jose, Washington, DC and Atlanta. After retiring in 2005, Ronny spent time traveling with Olga, enjoying and helping out his family and playing many rounds of golf. Survivors: Wife Olga Albrecht Rhodes of 34 years; father: Jack Rhodes; mother-in-law: Jeanette Constance; and children: Angela Yonke (Bob); Scott; Tammy; Brett Kimes (Andrea); and Toni (Kaymun); grandchildren: Christian Fletcher, Lauren Yonke, Heaven Rhodes and Kerrington, Kalleway and Kingsley Beck; brother: Randy Rhodes (Debbie), and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins. Predeceased by mother, Wilma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be given to the charity of your choice. Please send the family condolences and sign the guest book on this site. I met Ronnie in the early 80’s (Houston, TX). I admired his directness and enthusiasm. While in Dallas, TX, I recall Fred Bond always having good things to say about Ronnie and Mark. My prayers and deepest sympathy to the family. Art Gandara
