Dennis, Anthony K.
Obituary
Anthony Kyle Dennis, 43, of Dallas, was born on December 29, 1972, in Whitney, Texas, and passed away in his home on May 26, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m, Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Greenland Hills United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m, Sunday, June 5, 2016, at the home of his parents. Kyle was the middle of three children, born to Leslie and Misachilene Dennis of Whitney, Texas. He is survived by both of his parents. Other survivors include Doug and Ahleasha Hope (sister), and nephews Tyler and Colby, of Whitney; Klay Dennis (brother) and Wes Knotts, of Dallas; Bill and Sue Martin (aunt) of Corsicana; his beloved dogs George Henry, Pierre, Holiday, and Rascal; lifelong friend Amy Benson, of Arlington; and countless friends and clients. He is preceded in death by grandparents Clovis and Etheline Dennis, of Whitney; and Nelson and Louise Gatlin, also of Whitney. Kyle would want to be remembered for his contagious laughter, his incomparable sense of humor, his tremendous kindness towards people, and his unwavering love for animals. In lieu of flowers, both the family and Kyle request that memorial donations be made to the SPCA of Texas (www.spca.org/waystogive). Kyle graduated from Whitney High School. His former classmates describe him as “wonderful and funny,” “a truly kind soul,” “a joy to have as a friend,” and “always smiling and ever ready to help others.” Whitney is a small town, and most of his classmates were lucky enough to spend the entirety of their school years with him. They were children together, they grew up together, and they became adults together. They made memories, shared dreams, and shaped each others’ lives — and he will always be a part of and remembered by those whose lives he touched. Kyle attended Ogle School in Dallas to earn his Cosmetology License, and served the greater Dallas area as a hairstylist for over 20 years. When you sat in Kyle’s chair, he didn’t just give you a haircut. He gave you advice, he gave you laughter (lots of it), and he gave you a different perspective on life. You walked away with an amazing cut or color…and very likely a hilarious story (or more!) to tell. He had a beautiful heart, a beautiful mind, and a beautiful soul–and day after day, he made Dallas beautiful, as well. Kyle had the following quote framed at his salon: “Always be a first rate version of yourself and not a second rate version of someone else.” He looked at it every day. He lived it every day. His passing left a hole in our hearts that can never and will never be filled. He lived uniquely, he laughed heartily, and he loved fiercely. He never met a stranger, and never, ever passed on an opportunity to make someone laugh. This world lost a light, and he had absolutely no idea how brightly he shined. Our lives will always be a little darker now without him in it. Anthony Kyle Dennis–you are loved deeply, you are missed greatly, and you will be remembered fondly and forever. Kyle was truly one of a kind! I have so many memories of him- he will be missed. God bless the Dennis family and the entire WHS Class of ’91 as we mourn his loss. Prayers sent…
Wow what a great soul!! Kyle we had many good times together .. You will be missed! Fly high.. Oh and hug BOBBY FOR ME TOO!
My sincere sympathy and many prayers for Kyle’s family and friends. He was a terrific person and so loved by all who knew him. He left us way too soon. When my daughter would bring him to our home, he brought so much laughter, just a wonderful soul to be around. I would never catch him doing this but hours or maybe even days later after his visits, I would see that all the magnets on my refrigerator would be turned upside down and sideways, just totally messed up. When noticed, I would smile and burst into laughter and say to myself, “Kyle got me again” or “Kyle was here.” Thank you, Kyle, for being in my life through Amy. I will never forget you; you’ll always hold a special place in my heart. Rest easy.
Kyle was my co worker and my friend, and I loved him for all that he was. He was absolutely the funniest person I’ve ever known. I will truly miss him.
May God give comfort you in this time. Sending prayers.
I am shocked and saddened. He was a wonderful person, always had me laughing. I will miss him greatly. Kyle, I know you are watching over us from heaven with your beloved grandmother.
Kyle, Kyle, Kyle, where do I begin. We worked together for years, traveled together, agreed and dis-agreed, scraped wallpaper together but most of all we laughed through it all! You and I have memories that I will never forget! I am so happy that we spent our our birthday together this last December over lunch. I am blessed to have known you and to call you my friend. You will be forever missed. Love you always!❤️

We attended church with Kyle and his family when he was in high school here at Whitney. He was always so polite, kind, helpful, and had such a wonderful smile on his face. I know his family is hurting and I pray dear Lord for their hearts to be healed as they say their goodbyes.
I will remember your smile and laughter as you walked down the hall with Bobby Hightower….may your friends and family find comfort

My sweet Kyle I will miss you so much! To walk in for my appt. and say to you, “How are you?” and you would say “I’m blessed”! was in itself so sweet …. But then to leave and have you tell me to ” Have a blessed day!” was so very you! Your genuine smile and care was who you were and that is why I drove from Little Elm for about the last 10 yrs!
You were a good and kind and caring man and loved your gramma and those sweet dogs with all your heart! I am saddened for everyone who lost Kyle. He was a very kind person, big heart, and great smile. The world is worse off without someone like him.
I only worked with Kyle for a short time over the last year. I learned quickly how kind and compassionate he was. Kyle was a generous spirit and talented artist. I will continue to admire his servant heart. My deepest sympathy is with your family. I pray Kyle is at peace now.
I worked with Kyle for several years. What a great guy! We all have a lot of great memories. To his family, so sorry for your loss.
My sweet Kyle. We were good friends and co-workers for about 17 years. His spirit, silliness and kind heart are what drew me to him. I’ll never forget all the wonderful laughs and cries we had. He was there for the birth of both of my babies and my oldest nephew. I loved every minute I got to spend with him, he was a true joy in my life. There will always be a special place in my heart for him. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family. I will always love you my sweet friend.
I will miss him so…I already do. Such a sweet and special loving person. Why these gems of light in our lives are taken is a mystery. Kyle, I hope you feel my love for you and you are now in a place of eternal peace and happiness.
Kyle was our family’s stylist when we lived in Dallas from 2004 to 2014. He showed much kindness and concern for our family and was a part of our boys’ growing up from kids to young adults. He was always great about accommodating our family’s crazy schedules. We will remember him with much fondness and pray for God’s comfort and blessings on his family and friends.

In so much shock. Kyle was so much more than just the greatest hair stylist. He was a confidant & a friend (also a prankster). So many great memories & stories to tell. Such a great loss to all whose lives he touched. He was the ray of sunshine on a gloomy day and the rainbow after a storm. We will all miss you. My deepest sympathy and condolences to your family. Until we meet again, my friend.
Dear Family of Kyle, I am so sorry for your loss. Kyle cut my hair for the past 16 years or more, and our daughter’s when she was young. Years ago he came over for dinner with the entire family. He always remembered everyone’s name and the news from our previous visit. (He was so accurate, I asked if he kept on index card on all his clients!). His interest seemed genuine. I loved the times he shared from his heart, and I did too, and we talked on a deep level. We shared some of the same struggles. He was a thoughtful, tenderhearted man. I pray you all feel God’s strength, comfort and peace as you go through this difficult time.
with deep sympathy,
Susie and Bill Ashbaugh
