Mary Jo,dear friend. I admired Mary Jo for her enthusiasm and love for all. Her faith in the Lord shown in everything she did.
Our memories at Hofstra and following when you joined the Peace Corps and I went into the Army will be with me always.
Aunt Mary Jo was filled with light and life. She inspired me with her wonderful stories from the brave, adventurous life she lived. She was brilliant – and always seemed to be smiling. I feel honored to be related to her and will miss her here.
Mary Jo,
Our Family was Blessed twice over; the day your Son took our Daughter’s hand in marriage, and You came into our lives. I will miss you.
I am so sad… Mary Jo was a remarkable teacher. I met her when my nephews moved from France to live with us. When they started at East Elementary they didn’t speak a word of English. After only a few months studying with Mary Jo they were able to speak fluently and attend regular classes. I was so impressed by the quality of her work. She was kind, patient and cared a lot about her students.
Mary Jo was a wonderful teammate and like a second mom to me. She helped make me a better teacher and listened to all my stories as my boys grew up. I will miss her dearly. Rest in peace MJ. Love you!
