Voskuil, Marilyn Lou
Obituary
Marilyn Lou Voskuil, cherished wife of Richard, beloved mother of Jennifer Bufford, Caryn Voskuil, Elise Meadows, and Rebecca Voskuil-Clemones; and devoted grandmother of Alex, Jessica, Owen, Madison, and Peyton passed on to her heavenly father’s home on Sunday, June 5, 2016. She was 80 years old. Marilyn was born in Monroe Iowa in 1936, to Louise and Bert Spoelstra who are with her again in eternal peace. She graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa. Marilyn was married to Richard Casper Voskuil in 1959, in Otley, Iowa. Marilyn was generous, kind, funny, fun, beautiful, and the heart of our family. She was a wonderful mom, a best friend, a confidante and excellent listener, good cook and crafter, avid reader and lover of PBS, involved church leader, and a loving, caring, and devoted grandma. All of this, with a touch of moxie as well. She was also an accomplished singer. Marilyn sang not only at church, but for the Paul Hill Choral in Washington DC, the Minneapolis Symphony, and with the Bach Society in St. Louis. She believed strongly in Christ, and earnestly lived to try to honor God. She volunteered at church and for local charitable organizations. Marilyn did so much for so many. Please remember her for all the good she brought to those she knew, and to those she touched that didn’t even encounter or meet her. She brought love, caring, and kindness to so many. Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, June 11th at Grace Presbyterian Church located at 4300 W. Park Blvd, Plano, Texas 75093 at 1:00 pm. Flowers will be accepted, or you may make a donation to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are under the direction of ARIA Cremation Service and Funeral Home 19310 Preston Road Dallas, Texas 75252 214-306-6700
