December 30, 1947 - March 21, 2013
David found peace March 21 from his courageous 40 month battle with brain cancer. His spirit in fighting this disease was in accordance with his lifelong traits of perseverance and determination to succeed.
For almost 40 years David worked in the securities business, primarily as a municipal bond trader where he rode the ups and downs of a changing industry. He made many friends in the business throughout the United States, several of whom he now joins in heaven.
David’s biggest legacy, however, is his family who, just as he would want, will treasure his memory and continue living each day with renewed appreciation for the fleeting gift of life. This includes his wife of over 40 years, Melinda, his high school sweetheart. He is also survived by his older son, Murphy and his wife Shannon, and their son, Austin David; another son, Matthew and his wife, Shantell, along with their soon to be born son, Jackson Raines; and his daughter, Mollie. David’s only sibling, a sister, Carol Edmonds, her husband, Finley Edmonds, and their children, David’s niece Laurie Simpson and his nephews, Robb Edmonds and Brian Edmonds, along with their three respective spouses, Sam, Emily and Allison also survive David along with their children.
Services for David will be Friday, April 5 at 10 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, 14115 Hillcrest Road (NW corner of Spring Valley and Hillcrest Roads) Dallas, Texas 75254-8622 with interment immediately following in the church columbarium.
Memorials in his name may be made to Hospice Plus Inc., 3100 McKinnon St. Suite 200, Dallas, Texas 75201.
