Obituary
Donna Lee Thomas, She was born on April 11, 1936 in Spokane,Washington along with her twin brother
Donald Moller, who was born on April 10th. She grew up in Spokane, graduating from Lewis and Clark High
School in 1954, then from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma Washington with a BS in Occupational
Therapy. She moved to Dallas, Texas after marrying Kenneth Thomas of Jewett Texas in 1959. She worked for
Baylor University Medical Center for 4 years, then at Methodist Medical Center for 31 years, and lastly at
Golden Acres Rehabilitation and Living for 6 1/2 years. She retired from full time work in early 2000
to take care of her twin grandchildren Madison and Cole Powers, her pride and joy and “heart and soul”. She
enjoyed traveling, her church life, gardening, doll collecting, scrapbooking and volunteering in
her grandchildren’s school. She was active in her church, Lovers Lane United
Methodist Church, where she previously taught Sunday school, vacation bible school, and played the piano for
her Sunday school class. She had a wonderful sense of humor and really enjoyed getting
into character for costume parties. There was never a dull moment with her around,
and she was a master of funny faces. She was kind and giving, and would do anything
for her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Kathy and John Powers of Dallas
Texas, grandchildren Cole and Madison Powers, sister in law Lois Moller of Spokane, nieces Diana
Moller, Klara Moller and Tanya Barstad, nephew Ben Moller, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in
death by her parents Roy and Vivian Moller of Spokane, her twin brother Donald Moller of Spokane and her
foster brother Peter Barstad of Colorado. Any donations in her memory can be made to Mercy Ships, and the
Alzheimers Association in memory of her brother. Services pending.
