Roberts, Marcia Jayne
Obituary
Marcia Jayne Roberts passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 11, 2016. Marcia was born on March 30, 1927 in Rising Star, Texas. She grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma where she married her high school sweetheart, Cliff Roberts, at age 18. Eventually they had four children and moved to Dallas in 1962, but her marriage ended in divorce and she became a single parent. Marcia raised all four children on her own, sometimes working three jobs to make ends meet. During all those years she lived with great joy in the simple things of life ,and she cherished her family. Over time Marcia became to be know by everyone as Mimi. Frequently people would remark that they wished they had a grandmother like Mimi. Amazingly, at age 84, Marcia remarried Cliff Roberts and they had 3 wonderful years together. She had a steadfast faith in Jesus that carried her through many difficult experiences, including the deaths of two of her children. Her trust in God was evident up to the day of her death. Marcia was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff Roberts; daughter, Melanie Billington; and son, Tim Roberts. She is survived by her son Phil Roberts and wife Candice, and son Mark Roberts and wife Lisa, as well as nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. “To know her was to love her”, and she will be missed by all whose lives she touched. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 19 at 2pm at Fellowship Church Dallas – 9330 North Central Expy., Dallas 75231. Arrangements are under the direction of: ARIA Cremation Service & Funeral Home 10116 E. NW Highway Dallas, Texas 75238 214.340.8008
