Cobb, Cecilia A.

Cecilia “CC” Ann Cobb, 58, of Rockwall, Texas passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013. She was born in Dallas, Texas, to Owen Alvin and Opal Earline Burgess on September 22, 1954. She is survived by her loving husband, Christopher Thomas Cobb; daughter, Jennifer Cobb May, stepson, Christopher Shaun Cobb; and sisters, Zelvia Jean Calvert and Tommie Jo Wells. She is the proud, loving grandmother to Stephen Thomas Cobb, Megan Taylor Cobb, Hadley Ann May, and Henry Stratford May IV. She was preceded in death by her sisters Bessie Nell Everett and Peggy Lou Steele. CC was unwaveringly dedicated to her family. Nothing made her happier than her grandchildren, whom she orchestrated her entire life around, they were her pride and joy. She was an avid gardener and loved dancing, music, boating and traveling to her favorite island, South Bimini, Bahamas. She was a member of the Holy Trinity by the Lake Episcopal Church and worked as a Product Manager at Travelers Insurance in a career that spanned over 30 years. Her enduring spirit made lasting impressions on everyone she met and if you were a friend, you were family. Memorial services will be held at April 6, at 10:30 a.m., at the Holy Trinity by the Lake Episcopal Church with Father Gayland Pool officiating. Celebration to follow at the Cobb family home. Arrangements are under the direction of ARIA Cremation Service 19310 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas 75252

CC was truly one of a kind. I will miss seeing her in the office everyday, her warm spirit and beautiful smile; our lunches and our springtime golf outings. Watching her eyes light up when she talked about "those grandbabies", as if life began for her when they were born, is something I'll truly miss. I pray that your memories of CC will bring you great comfort in the days, weeks and months to come. Gone from our presence but never from our hearts. With my deepest sympathy.

It was a pleasure working with CC at Travelers she is going to be truly missed.

Here is a quote that I hope will help you find comfort:

I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love. Author Leo Buscaglia

Through the years, CC has been a colleague, an inspiration, and most importantly, a true friend. Her compassion, dedication, and positive attitude always stood out, and while CC will be deeply missed, she will often be remembered. I extend my sincerest condolences to CC’s family and all of those fortunate enough to have known her.

My deepest and most heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of CC. I've worked with her for many years on a regular basis, and she was my absolute favorite underwriter...always so smart and helpful. I enjoyed getting to know her personal side and hearing all about the grandkids and the sailing trips, the destination wedding, etc. She absolutely adored her grandchildren - so proud! She was very fortunate to have such a loving family and a life full of joy. I will miss her terribly! Called home to God too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
