I met Ed at SFA in Sept of 1963 and fell in love. We were married on Feb 15, 1964 and had one son, Jason Edward Middlebrook. We divorced almost 8 years later. Ed’s biggest passion was golf. He aspired to be a professional golfer in his younger years and was probably happiest when on the greens chasing that little white ball. He loved his high school buddies deeply and stayed in contact with them throughout all the years…the Mad Mad World bunch. A heart attack and a stroke took it’s toll on Ed. He never adjusted to the stroke very well and hated how it left him. Ed had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. I hope that he is playing on the back 9 in heaven and enjoying every hole. In my mind I will always see you as you were at age 26. Young, healthy and very good looking.
Linda, So sorry to hear about Edward. I was fortunate enough to visit with he and Terry a couple years ago in Dallas at a mall where they often walked and had coffee. I have very fond memories of Edward through our love of golf, HS, playing Little League ball together and playing on the NHS golf team. Later in life I guess we ended up in different parts of the state and never saw each other much. I remember when you guys dated and were married. Sorry for the loss. Edward was classic and will be fondly remembered.

Edward was my friend for more than 68 years. He and I were part of Mrs Gertrude Powers 1st grade class at Central Elementry in Nacogdoches, Texas. The friendship, that began that day,in that converted storeroom just across from the Old Nacogdoches University building does not end now for all his many friends, It just gets lonelier for all of us.
Ed and I were in NHS together…we were sweethearts then….I found Ed several years ago. I’m so sad to hear of this. I truly think he found that Jesus was his Savior…we talked about this many times. I know we’ll see each other in Heaven. He was a sweet guy, I’ll never forget him.
Almost 7 years. Miss ya Dad. Think about you every day.
Till we meet again. Love you. RIP
