Moser, Sue Merkel
Obituary
Sue Merkel Moser, daughter of Bernard and Anna Merkel, wife to Ken Moser, mother of Cami (Karl) Frasier and Cody (Ana) Holbrook, grandmother to Jon Marc, Matthew and Joshua Frasier and Marco and Elisa Holbrook. She was #7 of 10 children, raised on a farm on a South Dakota reservation. She was an excellent student, clarinet player, and softball player as a youth. She had many jobs – hamburger flipper, wallpaper hanger, salesperson, and a 33 yr federal civil servant. She also represented Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, and Rodan + Fields. Sue loved to serve her Lord and others. She was active in children’s church and choir, adult choir, the pregnancy center, preschool ministry, bible studies, Gift of Christmas, and Fall Festival. She was also known as Miss Sue when leading preschool children in worship and in music with her puppet “Scruffy”. Sue did not know a stranger. She was a welcoming person who put others before herself. Her joy overflowed in all she did. Whether she was a longtime friend or a brand new acquaintance, the love and fellowship she showed us all was unmistakable. An entertainer to young and old, she has been described by others as “a joyful light to all who had the blessing of knowing her.” For 16 years, Sue battled metastatic neuroendocrine carcinoid cancer. She passed peacefully with a smile at home attended by her husband, son, daughter, and son-in-love. She ran a good race and finished with honor. Christ was waiting for her at the finish line. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 P.M. at Prestonwood Baptist Church located at 6801 W. Park Blvd, Plano, Texas 75093 with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in her honor to the Prestonwood Baptist Children’s Ministry, Prestonwood Pregnancy Center, or the Redeeming the Time Ministry. Arrangements are under the direction of ARIA Cremation Service and Funeral Home 19310 Preston Road Dallas, Texas 75252 214-306-6700

Such a wonderful tribute to an amazing woman. I was so lucky to get to work with her. She’s the kind of employee that everyone dreams of having. No matter how bad she felt herself, she never ended a conversation without asking how I was doing and how my family was doing. She genuinely cared. I learned so much from her and I am so blessed to have had her as a friend.
Dear Moser family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Sue was one of my “older McLaughlin” cousins so I didn’t really know her growing up. We hope you find peace and comfort in knowing that she is with Jesus. It sounds like she touched many lives and left a lasting impression. Love and hugs. Robin (Broucek) Miller and family
I already miss that she will not be stopping by Denver to give me a hug, nor I, give her a hug in Dallas. She always said she was ready for where ever God’s path would take her. She was ok with it. She loved, loved, loved her husband, children and grandchildren. Family was so important, as was her faith. And she loved her dogs, she loved mine too! She wanted everyone to know God’s love for them and for them to be accepted into the kingdom of heaven. My dear old friend, I am sad that I do not get to celebrate your first retirement check and my first grey hair (wink). But I will carry you in my heart until we get to talk again!
Thinking of you Cami & family. Sorry for your loss.
She will live in your hearts forever.
Take care, Call if you need anything.
Aunt Sue was one special person. Like a second mom to me when I was little. Sue had a way of always making you smile and showed how much she cared for you every time she saw you. The number one reason we moved to Dallas (when given several cities as an option) was to be close to family. Sue was our only family living in Dallas at the time we made the move. I have loved the Sunday dinners and how she made Moses and Elijah smile everytime we visited or celebrated a birthday together. I will miss leaving work to meet up with her for lunch, I will miss thanksgiving diners at her home where she made every guest feel like close family. Most of all I will miss the influence she had on my children and her love of Christ as a center of love in their hearts. So happy you are home with Jesus, but my heart is in pain missing you N. Dot Sue…..
My heartfelt condolences go out to Sue’s family and friends. Sue was a role model to others. She was always positive, helpful, and had such a sweet disposition. She will be missed.
Sue and I became friends in 2000, when I became part of the Prestonwood Choir. She was my youngest daughter’s first Sunday school teacher. One memory I have is of visiting her home and there was this blue Jay that was preening and looking at himself in the Sideview mirror on my van. Sue and I both enjoyed watching him. Sue was a wonderful friend to me and others. I will miss her
I am so sorry to hear about Sue’s passing. What a shock! I worked with Sue for years when I was in Dallas, played softball with her and enjoyed many chats. She was a super sweet person. Find comfort in fond memories in know that she is walking the streets of gold with Jesus.
Dear Moser family, We were blessed to know ‘Miss Sue’ mainly through seeing her often early on Sunday mornings when she and Scruffy (her puppet doggie) were happily leading the preschoolers at church in praises to the Lord. She was a joy! She was a faithful servant of the Lord and will be greatly missed. Many of us will be lifting up your family in prayer. In Christ, Linda and Mark Robinson
Sue was such a warm light to all who knew her. Nothing could wipe that smile off her face, and no one would ever want to. I worked with Sue for a number of years, and she always made the day go by faster, and everything seem easy. Knowing Sue made me a better person, and I’d like to thank the Moser family for sharing her. I will never know a person with as much love and happiness as Sue.
Tim and I are so sorry for your loss. I had the honor of knowing Sue for several years although we didn’t get together as much as we would have liked. When I did see her she always had a smile on her face and full of faith and positive energy despite whatever trial she was facing. We got together a couple of years ago and she and I had a dance competition with the WI – I didn’t know she liked to dance so much. We had a blast! We laughed the entire time we were together. That’s the way I will remember her. She has such a wonderful and loving family and was blessed to have you all. She loved you all so much. She loved, she gave, she served – she lived a remarkable life. Keep her memory close to your hearts. Our prayers are with you all.
Sue was such a precious Godly woman who was filled with the love, joy & light of Christ! My prayers are with the family for God’s peace & comfort.
I was blessed to have met Sue through her daughter, Cami. She accepted me with her daughter without reservation. She showed her love at Cami’s wedding when she said we would be sitting beside her at the family pew. We held hands and both cried. This memory of her will stay with me forever. She was a remarkable woman. Her heart was enormous, her smile engaging and she will be missed.
Sue was indeed a special person and an asset to the Media & Publication Division at work. I can still hear her voice and her helpful, “can do” way of getting anything done. I hope when you think of her, you always smile. God bless her family and all who know her. Rest well, Sue.
Ken, I am sorry to learn about your wife’s passing. She and you were good neighbors to my mother. God bless and I hope you are well.
