Charles A Dana Jr (Charlie) passed away comfortably from pneumonia on September 18, in Dallas. Born in Windsor, Vermont, he was the son of Charles and Barbara Dana, he was 71 years old. His parents were also born in Windsor.
Charlie, starting in 1985, was Vice President of Public Relations and Government Affairs, for Occidental Chemical in Dallas. He retired in 2002. Prior to Occidental, he was at Olin Corporation in Stamford, CT for 12 years, with earlier jobs as a writer at the Aluminum Age magazine, and doing Public Relations at the consulting firm, Booze Allen.
A graduate Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism, and a member of SAE fraternity, he attended Kimball Union Academy in Plainfield, NH for his high school years. Upon graduation from college, he was a Vista Volunteer in both Selma, Alabama and Jackson, Mississippi. He was also a member of the Vermont National Guard.
As an active fisherman, he travelled to trout fish, bone fish, deep sea fish, Atlantic salmon fish, and especially enjoyed the waters of the North Platte River in Saratoga, WY. He was a member of the Lake Mansfield Trout Club in Vermont, the Old Baldy Club in Saratoga, WY, and Bent Tree Country Club in Dallas.
He is survived by his wife Ellie Luce Dana and his sister Susan Zeh of Sturbridge, Massachusetts.
Family services will be held at graveside in Vermont, at a future date.
