Gray, Mary Louise
Obituary
Mary Louise Gray passed away peacefully on September 14, 2016 surrounded by her family. Mary’s life began on June 16, 1922 in Shreveport, LA as the daughter of Virgie and Robert Gilmer. After graduating from Fair Park High School, she married and moved to Longview, TX where she raised her five children. During this time, she went to nursing school and devoted many years at Good Shepherd Hospital. Mary was a long time member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and spent much time volunteering and supporting numerous programs. In 1979 she married Ed Gray and lived the next thirty seven years by his side. She was extremely loving and leaves us with memories of a quick wit, bright smile and unwavering faith in God. She will not be forgotten by the many lives she touched. Mary is survived by her devoted and loving husband Ed Gray, sister Helen Taylor, children Bill Mason and wife Dianne, Jan Vanderpool and husband Don, Bob Mason, Ken Mason, Debbie Gilmore and husband Gary, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice or to Juliette Fowler Communities where she spent the last seven years of her life and was given such wonderful care and support.
