Burney was a true true joy to listen to as he played the organ at Holy Covenenant United Methodist Church. I had the pleasure of his friendship and kindness as a member there. He will truly be missed.

Burney’s passing saddens me very much as I was his high school class mate graduating in 1950. Burney and I shared our love for music, and attended the Waco Methodist Church together. I would appreciate knowing when his ashes are to be buried in Lincoln, NE, and would plan to attend the burial if it is open to friends.
My love to all and especially to the Hotchkiss family who have been his loving family for so long.

Burney and I met back in the year of 2001 when he moved into a retirement community in Lincoln, NE. I was the Activity Director at that time. We became instant friends, along with my husband, Alan.
Burney was a delightful friend and we shared our love for music. I started a Senior Choir for all who wanted to sing and he answered the call when I needed a pianist.
We had Burney in our home several times for a meal and enjoyed fun conversation.
He met our children at an Event and all thought he was a great guy.
Our middle child, DeEtte Bailey and I traveled to Dallas every January for GIFT Market and the 3 of us would meet for dinner at least one time during our week-long stay. DeEtte was the 1st one I called when Michelle phoned to tell of Burney’s passing. This will be the first year that we will not have many conversations in the evening, by phone, while we stayed in our Hotel.
He was an honored Veteran and we had many conversations about the up-coming election. I am very sad that he will not be able to VOTE this Nov. But, I bet he will get the scoop from God! He will be playing his beautiful music in Heaven, and maybe if I listen very closely, I will hear his favorite piece at Christmas time.
We are blessed to have had Burney in our lives, but I know He has gone home now, and we will see him soon.

    Love and Friendship from

    Who was Burnie Bourslough?
Hw was my friend, with whom I could talk openly, share thoughts and opinions and know they would be given weight whether he agreed or not or whether they had validity or not. He was respectful and therefore respected in return. He was a gentleman in the best of its meaning.
He was understanding, compassionate, empathetic and aware. He was a man of great talents and accomplishment but never splashy or brassy; it was quietly revealing in his actions. He was everything one could hope for in a friend and he will be missed but always present in our memories.
    He now walks with God.

I am the daughter of Rudy R Burney of Hemingford ME. I was a small child when Burney was a young man. Bug I remember him as being a very handsome and kind young man! I also remember that he was very talented on the piano!
He came to visit in the summer time and learned about wheat farming from his 2 uncle ‘s Cyril and Rudy Burney.
More recently we connected via email and we kept up with each other. He had told me of his health problems and I was so glad to hear from him again after a long illness last year! I am very sorry to hear about his heart attack and death! He did assured me that he was loved and taken card of by loved ones and I am grateful to them! May the Lord bless and reward you for being there for Burney. I only regret that we were not able to sed each other face to face but I will look for him in Heaven, perhaps he eill bd playing the irgsn for that Heavenly Choir.

I apologize for being slow to respond, I have had surgery and I have been laid up, but I wanted to say I knew Burney for 12 years and I enjoyed so much the talks we had and my dog Kaylee loved him so much. He was a kind, wise man and I will never forget him and he is much missed.

"Nothing prepares you for the grief you go through when losing a child. I called this funeral home at 2:00 am broken and could barely talk. The amount of compassion and empathy they showed me immediately let me know I found the right place to cremate my son. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, SINCERE concern, and commitment to making sure my son was honored in the most respectful way. I hope this Funeral home values her as much as my family and I do."

"I can’t say enough about how helpful and professional Dusty Martin, the funeral director at the Aria Cremation location on NW Highway has been. From my initial call, he was kind and informative. My friend died at home while on hospice and she was picked up in about an hour after receiving the call from the hospice nurse. The person who arrived to pick her up was also very professional/respectful and allowed us to take as much time with her as we wished. When I met with Dusty the next day about arrangements, he explained the process and options available without being pushy or trying to “sell” extras. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and, for example, was careful to be certain I understood the cost of the obituary I wanted and offered some options for reducing that cost if I wished. When I stopped by for another reason and started talking about some of the problems I was having with the pictures and media I hoped to use at a memorial lunch I was planning, he not only listened patiently but offered technology advice and let me use his personal media player. I have had experience arranging cremations for four others using two other local companies, and this experience with Dusty at Aria has been by far the best one I have had."

"My Daddy’s service and our family experience at Aria Northwest Highway was truly blessed. Funeral Director Dustin Martin is the kind of person that you would like to see on a more regular basis – but in his industry – you hope to not see him that often. That being said – THANK YOU DUSTIN for your unending kindness, compassion and friendship through the process. Meeting you and discussing Dallas History, Find A Grave and my Dad’s lifelong contributions to the great City of Dallas was simply wonderful! In memory of my dad James A. Dodd, Sr. – I want to personally thank you and let you know that you made everything better in that moment. Your calling to “Be There” is spot on. Aria has a one in a million guy in you! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: God Bless You!!"
