John was a member of Chi Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Order located at Vanderbilt University. He was well liked and a good brother to all. We have an expression that applies… John has gone to the Great Convivium… Our memory of him lives on.
I wanted to let you know how much Dr. Clariday meant to me and my family. He was our doctor while I was growing up in Dallas. Each time when we were about to leave his office,he would pull me aside and ask me to do something for him. He said that I should try to get my daddy to quit smoking and explained to me how it wasn’t good for him. You see, my dad smoked 3 packs of cigarettes every day. Because of Dr. Clariday, I was able to get my dad to quit and he was with us until he was 86 years old. I think of Dr. Clariday often when I drive by his old office on my way home from work. Our family was blessed to have him as our doctor and we always felt like he truly cared about us all. Please accept my sincere condolences

We are so sorry to learn of the passing of your father. He was our family doctor for 22 years which included the delivery of Suzanne. He had a very special place in all of our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Dr. Clariday was a wonderful physician and surgeon. He treated my family of origin in the 60’s and beyond and was an extremely caring and competent doctor. They don’t make doctors like this anymore. He could do almost anything and rarely needed to call in specialty care for patients as a result. His passing is a great loss for all, especially for the family. I got to know his son John over time and Dr. Clariday often made many of us feel like part of the family.
I worked for Dr. Clariday in the early 80’s, very fond memories. He will be missed.
To all Dr. John’s family and friends from Cartwright Baptist Church who are blessed to have known and worshipped with Dr. John and Ms. Lottie for a number of years. Kathy and I were especially blessed to have shared meals at their home in Mineola and our home in Cartwright. Our Dr. daughter, Dr. Holly Duplechain, was one of Dr. Clariday’s favorite church people to pick on. We have missed them and will continue to do so. Knowing their love and testimony for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, brings peace to our hearts and hope to our minds. Love, Cartwright Baptist Church by way of Doug and Kathy Richey
We are sorry to learn of the passing of Dr. John. He and Lottie were good friends and fine people. I am glad to know that we will be reunited one fine day.
