Payne, Betty Rae Bray

Betty Rae Bray Payne, 84, of Plano, Texas, ended her journey on November 12, 2016.

Visitation and celebration of life will be on Thursday, November 17 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Aria Cremation Service and Funeral Home, 19310 Preston Rd, Dallas, TX, 75252.

Betty was born in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Jesse and Ettie (Lee) Bray on May 19, 1932. She was a graduate of Bowlegs High School. Betty was a gifted artist. She created many beautiful canvases and painted pieces as well as some beautiful knit and crocheted items.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Ettie; her husband, Charles Robert Payne; two brothers Wesley Bray and Leslie Bray; four sisters Leona Maxwell, Dorothy Hankins, Ruth Houck, and Jessie Ann Dye, daughter-in-law Cathy Winkler, granddaughters Shauna Davis and Justine Winkler, and grandson Donald Raymond Winkler Jr.

Betty is survived by 3 sisters: Wanda Street, Louise Dye, and Sue Robinson; 3 sons: Donald (Tammy) Winkler of Odessa, TX, David Winkler of Odessa, TX, and Terry (LeeAnn) Winkler, of Mesquite, TX; 10 grandchildren Kelly Winkler of Malta, Jeffrey Winkler of Waynesboro, PA, Jennifer (Tony) Chapin of Blanchester, OH, Shannon (Mark) Cizdziel of Frisco, TX, Matt Winkler, Brittany Winkler, Wesley Winkler, and CJ Winkler of Odessa, TX; Maria Johnson and Carla Johnson of Hobbs, NM; and 17 great grandchildren.
