Smith, Kenneth J.
Obituary
Kenneth John Smith passed away on December 4th 2016. Born on October 8th 1953 he was raised in the East Dallas and Richardson areas, the oldest of 6 siblings. As a youth he loved baseball and even pitched a no-hitter to win the city championship game at the age of 12. He picked up a guitar at the age of 5 and found his true passion. He was a self taught singer and song writer and loved music of all kinds including country, rock and roll but especially the blues. Growing up he was always there to help his mother with his 5 younger siblings and some would say that was his 1st real job. He started throwing papers at the age of 11 in his East Dallas neighborhood and worked hard doing a variety of jobs in his youth taking him all over the country. He found his niche as a carpenter and stuck with the construction business until his health forced him to retire in 2009. He is preceded in death by his fathers, Jerome Smith Sr and Troy Wetzel, his brother Bill Smith and son Aaron Michael Cutts. He is survived by mother Wynell Smith; sons, Austin James Smith and wife Vanessa, Kenneth Robert Smith and Blaike Olsson, daughter Tammy Cutts; grandchildren Kellen, Dominic, Kenny, Kaylee, Jayden and Ava; siblings Linda Smith, Jerry Smith Jr., Jeff and wife Cindi Smith, Laura and husband Gerry Bushnell; 19 nieces and nephew; several aunts, uncles and scores of cousins. Kenny “Guitar Jackson” was much loved and will be missed dearly by all. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 9, 2016 at ARIA Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of ARIA Cremation Service and Funeral Home 19310 Preston Road Dallas, Texas 75252 214-306-6700
