McBeth, Susan Elizabeth

January 21, 1962 - December 22, 2016

Susan Elizabeth McBeth, beloved daughter and sister, died peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at age 54.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Jody McBeth, in 1993, her step-mother, Carolyn McBeth, in 2012, and her sister, Sydney McBeth, this past January.  She is survived by her father, Charles McBeth, her Godparents, Uncle and Aunt, Joe and Mary Sue Pratt, and many wonderful and loving cousins.

Sydney was a talented, professional singer, but always said Suzy had the better voice.  Suzy did sing on weekends at Swan Court in Richardson from time to time, and seemed to be able to do whatever she wanted to and do it well.  In the 5th grade she, on her initiative, put together a grade school newspaper, The Heights Gazette, four or five letter-size pages with a Sports Section and other typical newspaper sections, together with a few “reporters” she recruited.  When the teachers discovered it they made and distributed copies.  About the same time she taught some of the younger kids in Vacation Bible School.  She worked in sales her adult life, and as she put it, sold “everything that’s legal.”

Thank you, God, for letting us have our precious Suzy for this brief time, and the joy she brought to us.

When Sydney passed away in January, Suzy and I were overwhelmed at the wonderful support from our family and friends and Sydney’s friends.  I know that there would be similar support and condolences for Suzy at her service as well, but I hope you understand that I have decided not to have a church or memorial service for Suzy.  Suzy’s ashes will be placed in the same niche as Sydney’s at the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration’s columbarium in a private ceremony at a time to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church of the Transfiguration, 14115 Hillcrest, Dallas, Texas 75254.  When Jody died Suzy went with me to make arrangements at the funeral home, the church and other places at this most stressful time.  She took the lead in making arrangements for Sydney and gave a beautiful eulogy for Syd.  We found this wonderful church to be a haven of love and support.  I know God will grant Suzy the most wonderful blessings of heaven.  May God bless our friends and family for their help, their love and support.

Terri Block Baccus says:

Even though Suzy and I went to Heights together, I really remember our times at West Jr. High. We both were cheerleaders – many fun practices at Height’s Park and sleepovers. The last time I saw Suzy, it was at a high school reunion. She brought Sidney. I told her that I thought she was still the most beautiful girl in school. I am glad I told her that truth! I am truly sorry for your loss.

Shirley Evanicky says:

Cousin Charles, you are in our thoughts and prayers. The memorial from the newspaper was so nice and the picture of Susan so beautiful. Your precious daughter is already missed.

I was thinking of the McBeth family and did some research “on line”. I am a cousin to Carol Jo Mizera McBeth. It has been years since I had any contack with Charlie. His daughters were so talented and gorgeous,,,just like their Mother.. My cousin Suann and I took Sydney & Susan to a movie when they had come to visit the family in Midland, TX. The last time I was able to see Jodie and Charles was on a trip to Dallas. So heart breaking that Carol Jo and they girls are not on this earth but in Heaven..Kathryn “ANN” ARMSTRONG Al-Jazrawi…

Excellent customer service, they made you feel like you were their only customer. Very helpful and explained what we should expect during the process. They basically took care of our needs during this time. They contacted DFW National Cemetery for us which made it a smooth experience. Definitely will use them again.
