THAMES-RAULT, Anne Marie Genevieve “MiMi” Passed away on December 9, 2016 after a fierce battle of 5 1/2 years with ovarian cancer. Anne-Marie was born in Senonches, France on August 1, 1939 to Marcel & Claire Rault. Predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Robert F. Thames of Monroeville, AL. After her education in French private schools, her working years (mostly in the bilingual field) took place in France, Ohio, Saudi Arabia, and Texas. She had a wide range of interests in music (symphony, jazz, operas), the arts, theater, foreign movies and an insatiable taste for travel taking her to 43 countries, from a Kenyan safari to Machu Picchu and a stay in Saudi Arabia where she lived for 6 years with her family. Many trips were made to her beloved native country to visit family. She was an avid bird watcher and also enjoyed cooking, sewing, antiquing, scrapbooking and crossword puzzles. Her love of gardening and nature took her to the Dallas Arboretum where she was a docent for many years. Survived by her companion of 13 years Bert Yuttal, her 3 children: Isabelle (George) Kalantzes of Bozeman, MT & St. George, UT, Eric (Gina) Thames of Arlington, TX and Lisa (James) Heiskell of SLC, UT and three beautiful grandchildren Jillian, Emily, & Troy, her sister Jeanne Michou (Jean Pierre) of Cannes, France and many nephews, nieces, and grand nephews, leaving behind wonderful friends near and far. Her family was the most important part of her life. The family extends sincere thanks to her medical team, neighbors, and close friends for their support during the last few years. A celebration of Anne-Marie’s life will take place at 12 Noon on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at North Dallas Funeral Chapel located at 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. Internment at DFW National Cemetary next to her husband, Robert (a Korean War Veteran) at a later date. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Brooks Family Funeral Home 2710 Valley View Lane Dallas, Texas 75234
