Carr, Edie L.

April 16, 1945 - January 18, 2017

Edie Lou Carr, 71 of Irving, TX passed Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at home of natural causes. She was born April 16, 1945 to Carl Wallace and Mary Lee Smith in Dallas, TX.  She had one sister, Latriece Cross and 2 brothers, Carl Don Smith and Dan Smith.

On July 31, 1972 she married Ralph Carr. She spent time studying at Oklahoma Christian College, Mountain View College, and Northlake College.

She stayed home to raise her 3 children, Patti, Jennifer, and Michael. Later she cared for Christopher, Nicholas, Ashleigh, and Mary.

Edie’s love for learning was evident as she blessed Christopher, Nicholas, Ashleigh, Mary, and Hannah by home schooling them for many years. She also was actively involved with home school groups and, teaching puppets for Leadership Training for Christ.

Mother was a talented artist. She sang, drew, painted, sculpted, taught, and loved.  She made everything beautiful.  Mostly, she loved God and, it was evident to all who her first love is.  She is now home in His arms.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Ralph; daughters Patti & Jennifer; son Michael and his wife Krystal; grandchildren Christopher, Nicholas, Ashleigh, Mary, Hannah and Ryan; and great-grandchildren Elijah, Finnley, and Isabelle.

Excellent customer service, they made you feel like you were their only customer. Very helpful and explained what we should expect during the process. They basically took care of our needs during this time. They contacted DFW National Cemetery for us which made it a smooth experience. Definitely will use them again.
