Long, II, Fred A.
Obituary
Fred Anthony Long II, 48, passed from this life on Thursday April 11, 2013 unexpectedly in his home in Garland Texas. Fred was born in Buffalo New York on October 3, 1964, though spent most of his life in the great State of Texas. He was a caring gentle soul who always tried to do the best he could for all those around him. He was known for his whimsical comments, his love for wrestling and his passion for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. It was not uncommon for Fred to offer to help with anything that needed to be done. Never thinking of himself, he pressed forward to do what was needed regardless of how much pain he was in at the time. Fred was the namesake of his father, Fred Anthony Long and followed as closely to his father’s footsteps as he could. He was a loving son, brother and friend to many. Fred also was an active member of the St Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was very proud to help out the church and the Knights with whatever their needs were. Fred had lost his father, Fred, in 1992 and his sister Kathy in 2002. He is survived by his loving Mother, Mildred “Midge” Long, his sister Betty Murdock, older brother Jim Long and his youngest brother David Long. He also had several nieces and nephews, Jennifer Ann Slaughter, Sean Murdock, Andrea Murdock and Kathy Long as well as more aunts, uncles and cousins than can be all listed here. Fred also had many friends in both Pennsylvania and Texas for many years and was never spoken of in a disparaging way by any one. Fred will be buried next to his Father and Sister at Concord Cemetery in Wood County Texas. The viewing will be held Monday April 15, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Aria Cremation Services and Funeral Home located at 19310 Preston Rd, Dallas Texas 75252. This is also the address where flowers can be sent. The funeral service will be held at St Joseph’s Catholic Church located at 600 South Jupiter Rd, Richardson, TX 75081 at 10:30 AM on Tuesday April 16, 2013 with the burial taking place at the Concord Cemetery at 3:00 PM. Fred did not have any life insurance, so any donations are very appreciated to help with the payment of the funeral services. Donations can be sent via paypal to david_m_long@hotmail.com or you can use the email address to get a physical address for mailing in a donation. Fred will be missed by all of us and we will never forget the light he brought into our worlds. Rest in Peace.
