I’m 76 now. I worked for DECO in London and then in Denver, thanks to the company helping me obtain a permanent Visa in 1962. DECO was a family. Mr Damon Sr presided from the corner office on Market Street. Art was “junior”. He developed the DR Flotation machine that is still important today and sold by METSO. Art and I traveled to the Shop and test area in Colorado Springs together many times as I assisted him with the tests. I have fond memories of working with Art and will be forever grateful to him and to the Company for giving me a start in this country. God bless you Art.
I had not realized Art passed away until today when I saw the notice online. My deep condolences to his family. Art and Jean were neighbors in Denver and close family friends. My parents adored them both. They traveled, golfed, went to events, and had pot lucks together. We all loved Art’s sense of humor, kindness and that unequaled laugh. Art was a large man with an even larger heart. I am so fortunate to have known his wonderfully strong family. Rest in Peace, Mr. Daman.
