Hutson, Travonna "Joanie"
Obituary
Travonna Joan Hutson, (Joanie), 63, went peacefully to be with Jesus on May 29, 2017, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born September 8, 1953 in Tulia Texas, to Jerald and Elwanda Hutson. She is preceded in death by her father, Jerald Hutson. She is survived by her mother, Elwanda, brothers Dale and wife Caroline, Charles and wife Donna, Glen and wife Cheryl, and many nieces and nephews.
Joanie was born in Tulia, Texas, and moved to Richardson, when her Dad took a job at Texas Instruments. Joanie graduated from Richardson High School in 1971. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in business, Cum Laude, at North Texas State University in 1977. She used her education to aid the family electronics manufacturing business while also caring for her loved ones. Joanie was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November 2016. She bravely decided for a homeopathic alternative treatment instead of chemo. However she lost her battle with the disease due to its advanced stage once discovered. Thanks to blessings from the Lord, she was never in any tremendous pain. She always loved to share her passion for the Lord with others. She delighted in gardening, going for walks, reading and cooking. She also enjoyed stained glass, wind chimes and for some reason, large construction equipment. She would always exclaim, “Oooh, Joanie like!” upon seeing a bulldozer or the like, making us all laugh. She was a good and faithful servant of the Lord and a blessing to everyone she met. Joanie thought of herself as no one special. Just a sign post pointing the way to heaven for anyone else who would, to follow.
Certainly a life well lived.

She was a great person and will be missed. We always shared birthdays together (since we were only 8 days apart) so it always seemed like we had a fun connection with one another. Also I cant let it go without mentioning that her cooking was excellent! I’m pretty sure we would all fight over her special fries as well as the ice cream cherry cheese cake. However her MacNCheese was my favorite.
We love you, enjoy Heaven!
Prayers to the family of this Dear Sweet Lady.
I am a better person for having known her.
Rest in the comfort of Our LORDS Arms Joanie.
