Weatherby, Betty Sue
Obituary
Betty Sue Weatherby (nee Agent), 81, peacefully passed away February 5, 2018 in Dallas, Texas. She was born March 4, 1936 in Canton, Mississippi to the late Jack and Hilda (Crawford) Agent. She was a 1954 graduate of Canton High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Edward Leroy (Bucky) Shepherd and had three children, Debra, Leslie, and Alan. Betty was left a young widow when Bucky was killed in a car accident in 1963. Betty married Nathaniel F. (Nat) Weatherby III in 1965, and they had their daughter, Natalie. They moved their family to San Angelo, Texas and then, in 1973, to Albuquerque, New Mexico where Betty enjoyed selling real estate and later, working side-by-side with Nat as owners of Nat’s Paint and Wallpaper. Betty is survived by her children, Debbie Shepherd Phillips and husband Allen (Plano, Texas), Leslie Shepherd and wife Hilary Sproul (Vienna, Virginia), Alan Shepherd and fiance Becky (Pie Town, New Mexico), Natalie Weatherby-Nance and husband Brian (Chantilly, Virginia); four grandchildren Marisha Phillips Beck and husband Jason, Garrett Phillips and wife Michaela, Jared Shepherd, Madison Shepherd Schwengal and husband John; and three great-grandchildren Peyton, Brooklyn and Thyri. She is preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel F. Weatherby III. At Betty’s request, no formal services will be held. Her wish was to be beside Nat in death as they were in life and the family will honor them both by scattering her ashes, as his were, in the mountains of New Mexico. The family is grateful for the condolences, but declines flowers and donations.
