Bromwich, Ruth Burdekin
Obituary
Ruth Burdekin Bromwich our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Frisco Texas at the age of 85 on February 23, 2018. She was the daughter of Robert and Mabel (Booth) Burdekin born in Jamaica, New York. Ruth married her childhood sweetheart William Herman Bromwich, Jr. on June 18, 1955, and raised their children and lived for 30 years in Greenwich, Connecticut. Throughout their nearly 63 years of marriage, Ruth and Bill enjoyed also living in New York, Alabama, Vermont, Massachusetts, Florida, New Hampshire, Minnesota, and Texas. Ruth’s true passions included family, friends, entertaining, bridge and story telling — where colorful details always superseded factual content! She was an intensely devoted wife, mother, friend and a dedicated volunteer. Fun, spirited, soft-hearted and generous, her spunky personality and direct style made her one of a kind, instantly likable, warm and memorable. Preceded in death by both her parents, brother Robert, sisters Marion, Harriet and Mabel. Survived in death by beloved husband Bill “the Saint”; sister Joan Allan; daughters Cheryl (Jeff) Murphy and Dana (Michael) Howe; grandchildren Andrew (Kristen) Murphy, Sean (Kristen) Murphy, Connor Howe, Ryan Howe, James Murphy and Lindsey Howe; great-grandsons Kieghan Murphy and Kinsler Murphy. Service will be held on Thursday, March 1 at 11:00am at Grace Avenue United Methodist Church, Frisco, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to American Lung Association or the charity of your choice. I am so very sorry to hear of Ruth’s passing. Growing up in Greenwich with the Bromwich girls, I was lucky enough to know Bill and Ruth through church. Very special people. My love to Bill and the entire family. Rest in peace, Ruth. You were a wonderful lady.
Dear Cheryl and Precious Family, Those who have shared your joy now also share your sorrow. With love to all of you.
