Hamlett, Robert "Bob"
Obituary
Beloved husband of Vicki L. Hamlett, precious father of Christina (Jad) Dunning, and Valery (Steve) Needham passed away on May 11, 2013. He is survived by four grandchildren he adored: Mason, Jack, Josie and Charlie. Bob was born and raised in Arizona where he graduated with a BS in Business from Arizona State University. He and his family moved to Plano in 1980. His support of the youth in the Plano Community was his and Vicki’s passion as they religiously attended Plano Wildcat football, baseball, softball, and basketball games for the next 33 years. He was an entrepreneur, owning several businesses until his retirement one year ago from the publishing industry where he started his career. Bob was an avid fisherman, golfer, animal lover and a very involved and dedicated Grandfather. He made every environment he was in a better place. A true testimony to his loving, giving nature are the many, many friends who love him and will deeply miss him. He is also survived by two brothers, Bill and Pat Hamlett and a sister, Julie Monfred, as well as many neices and nephews. He will never be forgotten. In honor of Bob’s true love for all animals, big and small, we ask that, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Plano Animal Shelter at http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/TX01.html. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church 5100 W. Plano Parkway, Plano, Texas 75093. Arrangements are under the direction of ARIA Cremation Service and Funeral Home 19310 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas 75252 214-306-6700.
