Miller, John H.
Obituary
John Henry Miller, 71, of Irving, Texas passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at home with his daughter Julie by his side. He was born on August 8, 1947, in Tushka, Oklahoma to Clarence Edward (Doc) Miller Sr. & Virginia Callie Lee Miller. John was one of 12 siblings. He was born in Oklahoma and shared stories of how a man-made lake was built where his home once was. He was an avid story teller and couldn’t get through a story without making himself laugh. He would chuckle all through the tale. He loved to share his knowledge and skill with others and has been known to passionately debate religion. John and his father could spend hours discussing religion, and John in fact had recently finished a book he wrote on different aspects of religion and was preparing it for publication. John worked many years in Ridgecrest, CA for the China Lake Naval Weapon’s Base. He later moved to Oregon after suffering injuries at work and ultimately ended up in Texas to be near his children, grandchildren, and great children. He loved to spend time with family and especially time with his grandchild and great-grandchildren. You would find him chasing the kids around the living room, sitting in the floor playing doll house (while talking in a funny voice) or going target shooting. He would often be heard whistling or singing throughout the day. John loved the lord and continued to visit the chaplain and take communion weekly. He is survived by his 9 siblings, Clarence Miller, Jr., Bryan Miller, Michael Miller, Joe Miller, Randy Miller, James Miller, Sue Keeton, Naomia L’Hommedieu, and Betty Rutledge; daughters, Julie Ann Brown of Irving, Texas, Tonia Jean Wallace of Midland, Texas and their sister Shari Christine Thomas of Midland, Texas; grandchildren, David Hicks, Daniel Hicks and Zachery Wallace of Midland, Texas and Cynthia Lewis and Alyse Brown of Irving, Texas. Tyler Hicks, Clarissa Hicks, Drake Strickland, Kadence Hicks of Midland, Texas. Ryan Lewis, Bradley Lewis, Aubrey Lewis, Hayden Smith, Rehan Asyoon, and Ayan Asyoon of Irving, Texas. John is predeceased by His father Clarence E. Miller, Mother Virginia Miller, brother Paul Miller and sister Virginia Ruth Miller. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018, at 3 pm.
