Lane, Willie George “Buster” Jr. born December 6, 1951, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Mr. & Mrs. Willie G. Lane Sr. passed away on October 7, 2018, at the age of 66. Willie, known as “Buster” to his family, grew up in Mississippi and Louisiana, raised with siblings Randy and Linda. Graduated from Woodlawn High School in Shreveport, LA; received his bachelors from the University of Houston, and masters from the University of North Texas. Dedicated to the preservation of the environment, Willie worked with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 6 for 30 years. Willie enjoyed music, football, tennis, and the great outdoors, which he shared with his family on many long drives and camping trips to National Parks across the US. Willie was an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Carrollton, TX. He was a founding council member of the AUMC Giving Garden est. 2009, a community garden preserving the beauty of Carrollton and sharing produce to in need communities. Willie was a devoted father to his two daughters, a loving husband, a caring son, and brother. He was faithful and committed to the service of others. Survived by his wife Cheryl Gainer; daughters Hilary Paine, Sara Gainer-Lane; parents Willie G. Lane Sr. and Georgia Nicholson Lane; siblings Randy Lane, Linda Lane Dilgard; extended family and dear friends. A celebration of life honoring Willie Lane will take place: Sunday, October 21, 2018, at 4:00 PM Aldersgate United Methodist Church 3926 Old Denton Rd., Carrollton, TX 75007 In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating in Willie G. Willie was a great man, a good friend, and often spoke lovingly of his family. A truly positive influence in the lives of so many. He always had compassion for others, and never said anything bad about anybody. May God comfort his family with the knowledge he awaits them.
