McBride, Patrick Dean
Obituary
Patrick Dean McBride was born May 30th, 1968 in Dallas, Texas. He entered the gates of heaven on October 23rd, 2018 after a brave fight with esophageal cancer. He was the youngest of four children born to Gary and Judy McBride. Patrick grew up in Richardson, Texas. He graduated from JJ Pearce High School in 1986 and attended Texas Tech University. He lived in Chicago for several years before moving back to his hometown of Richardson, where he resided the last several years. Patrick loved the outdoors. He excelled at so many hobbies. Fishing, hunting, boating and golfing were all passions of his. He made sure he had all the skis, rafts and tubes for his boat to keep everyone entertained. Even more, he loved just spending time with family and friends. He was dedicated to anyone he loved. He would do anything to help out a friend. Patrick could also fix anything! If someone had a plumbing, car or electrical problem he would take care of it. He was a hard worker, in every aspect of his life. He had a quick wit that gave us so many memories with smiles and laughter. God gave him the gifts of compassion and meekness. He loved deeply, yet quietly. He was a good friend, a wonderful cousin and nephew, a beloved uncle, a dedicated brother and the best son anyone could ask for. We are already missing him, greatly. We know he is experiencing such joy and peace with our Heavenly Father! Patrick is preceded in death by his father, Gary Dean McBride and grandparents, Wayne & Grace McBride and L.D. & Juanita Patterson and cousin Reagan Austin Beene. Most of my childhood memories include your family and all our church family. I’m so sad for the loss to this world but happy there’s no more suffering for Patrick. What a blessing to have family and friends who took such great care of him until his home-going. Love you guys and have you in my prayers.
Forever remembered, love you Patrick
We have know and loved this family for 56 years. You will be missed Patrick but we know your suffering is over and you are rejoicing in heaven.
Mike & Family –
May you find peace and love in the memories you cherish.
Rest in peace Patrick.
Years ago, I shared a very memorable moment with my uncle Patrick. It was shortly after 9/11, and he was producing at the time. Patrick had taken me to a shoot for Nickelodeon at a mansion in North Dallas. It was a Sunday, and when we left, we were headed back to Richardson as Mackenzie and I was staying at Grandma’s that weekend. I had finagled my way out of church that morning. As we were headed back, they interrupted the radio broadcast with a bulletin. We had just dropped the first bombs in airstrikes on Al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan. Patrick and I listened intently to this welcome report. In the wake of the attacks on September 11th, this was big and powerful news for our still grieving nation. We were all waiting for action and now it had begun.
Patrick was very patriotic if albeit quietly in his own way. He understood the significance of what we had just heard. Knowing how many friends and family were in Church at that very moment and thus oblivious to this very significant event, Patrick took a detour to the church. When we arrived, we walked into the sanctuary and down to the altar. I quickly found Grandma, and took a seat while Patrick quietly interrupted Glen in the middle of his sermon. A few moments later, Glen addressed the congregation with the positive news and led everyone in prayer for our military members overseas and their leaders at home.
However, one of my fondest memories of Patrick was in a pool hall—likely up later than I should have been. I was undoubtedly the youngest person in the place, and by that I mean the only one under 21. That night Patrick introduced me to the rules of Pool—not the tournament rules—the bar rules. He taught me how to break—using the force of your whole body and not just your arms. Oddly enough, I always associated his advice with a moment in Happy Gilmore when Chubbs says, “it’s all in the hips.” This is the kind of life advice young men should be learning from their uncles, and I am thankful that Patrick was there to provide it and so much more to me growing up. To this day I still remember Patrick and that night every time I crack a cue ball. Love and miss you, Matthew.
Patrick & I were very close many years ago when we both resided in Chicago. We both moved & hadn’t kept in touch which seems unbelievable. Since we were so close.A mutal friend had let many of us know of his passing. I find this news so heartbreaking. Rest peaceful now my friend. May God Bless you all.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family. They can be comforted in the fact That patrick touched so many lives, he will be truly missed.
I worked with Patrick for a while. All I can tell right now is, God rest him in peace. My condolences to the family. RIP Patrick.

The Wendel family met Patrick in the 80s when he was working on production and my brothers modeling. Since their first shoot together, Patrick instantly became part of our family. Life will definitely be different without Patrick and we are all better for knowing him. His quick wit and honest, sometimes brutal advise, comments and downright loyalty and unwavering friendship can never be replaced nor forgotten. His place in this family will never be replaced and We will cherish every memory and moment we all shared in all our own ways. We are so blessed to have so many memories, which all usually start and end with a burst of laughter. Good times always with Patrick, through both fun and hard life times. Cheers to the most reliable, loyal, honest, caring, fun and witty man around. Thank you to Patrick’s family for sharing him with us. We truly loved him. Please rest in peace our dear Patrick. Or as our mom calls him affectionately… Pattycakes.
Sincerely,
Bud & Mary, Melissa (Justin Muro), Brad & Erin, Chris & Triston, Jeremy, Jessi (Matt Fromm) & Alex Wendel

I worked with Patrick for several years. He always had a twinkle in his eye. His wit was welcome, his feisty nature enjoyed. I am sorry I heard about this too late. Rest in peace Paddy….
