Stanfield, William "Bill" Gardner
Obituary
William (“Bill”) Gardner Stanfield, better known as “Pop” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was born on March 19, 1929 in Enid, OK and departed peacefully on November 2, 2018 at his home in Dallas. He passed as he lived, independently and loved by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Earnest and Emma Stanfield and sister Dorothy Vignola. His wife Julia Page also preceded him in death after a long and happy marriage in 1997. William placed a high value on education, and after graduating from Enid High School he attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he earned a BS in mechanical engineering in 1951. He later attended SMU for graduate studies, earning an MBA and a BS in engineering. His many careers included aerospace engineering, petroleum drilling, platform engineer, and accident investigations. He is survived by his two daughters, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. His greatest joys in life came from showing his family the world, sharing his wisdom, and learning something new every day. He is an inspiration to his family and friends and will be greatly missed. A loving remembrance of his life will be held on Saturday November 10th at 4 pm at Aria Services on Preston Road in far north Dallas.
