Obituary
Arturo Contreras Vargas born on 11/3/45 in Mexico City. He was raised in Weslaco, TX. After graduation he immediately joined the Air Force. On October 25, 1969 he received his Honorable Discharge. In December of 1969 he married Lupe Castillo of 48 years and raised their family in Grand Prairie, TX. He retired as a Communications Specialist for AT&T/Avaya. He loved spending time with his family and friends taking photos to treasure the moments. He enjoyed the beach, deep sea fishing, sports, especially America’s Team the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and Golf. He is survived by his four children. Clifford Acosta and wife Arlene, Sandy Sandoval and husband Jesse, Lori Guzman and husband Tommy, Arlene Caudillo and husband Andrew. Along with 11 grandkids (Anthony, Diva, Serina, Jeremy and wife Teresa, Crystaline, Jesus, Alexandria and husband Michael, Gino and wife Trisha, Danni, Justin and wife Angelica and Zoe). Along with 16 great grandkids (Angelo, Bella, Emilio, Lorenzo, Santino, Sienna, Vincent, Joshua, Jessica, Natalie, Julian, Elliana, Michael, Evelyn, Emileigh, and Adriana Mariah). Family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, November 20, 2018, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Aria Chapel – Irving. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 pm at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 2910 Corn Valley Road, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052. Burial with full military honors will be held at 2:15 pm at the Dallas – Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
