Soukup, Debra L.

Soukup, Debra Lynne went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2018. Debbie was born April 5, 1958 in Waco, Texas to Floyd and Florence “Jerry” Gummelt. Debbie graduated from University High School in 1976. She was a hard worker, and loved what she did and the people she worked with at Haag Engineering. In her spare time, Debbie loved cooking, gardening, playing Yahtzee, and spending time with her two daughters and two granddaughters. She was a very warm and caring person with a big heart, and a loving mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many. Debbie is survived by her daughters Tara and Kari Soukup, granddaughters Ava Norman and Rylynn Soukup, and sister Linda Sue Zgabay.

Service will be held at Solutions of North Texas 1516 N. Ruddell Street, Denton, Texas 76209 on Saturday December 1st 2018 beginning at 10:00am. At the conclusion of the service Tara and Kari will be welcoming family and close friends to their home in The Colony to share memories of Debbie; the address will be provided after the service. In lieu of flowers, her daughters request that you consider donating to the GoFundMe account they have set up to help with the cost of Debbie’s outstanding medical bills from her long battle with cancer.

Debbie was a special soul. She is, and will continue to be, deeply missed.

“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving us for an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 “For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands, “2 Corinthians 5:1

I am so very upset & sad to hear this! I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was an amazing woman! We got along great the times we had. She made me feel so welcomed at Thanksgiving a few years back. Had great time watching movies with her. I will never forget her and her loving warm spirit! I will deeply miss her! Loved her. Great Angel. <3

I worked with Debbie at Chemical Systems Division of United Technologies back in the late 80s early 90s. She was my department's administrative assistant. Debbie was always a joy to work with. So sorry to hear of your loss.

Our loss is heaven's gain and your citizenship is now in heaven. But we do not morn as those who have no hope, for to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.
Love you sweetheart! See you soon.
