Obituary
Diane Dodson Bledsoe, 80, of Irving, Texas passed away suddenly on February 14, 2019, ending her battle with Alzheimer’s. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and mentor. She was born in Dallas, Texas on July 18, 1938, to the late J.T. and Geneva Dodson. Diane graduated from Adamson H.S. in Dallas, Texas. She attended Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas, leaving after three years to work for Braniff Airways in Dallas. She was a stay-at-home mom for a number years. She then worked for the Special Education Department in Cedar Hill ISD for 6 years. After moving to commerce, Texas, she was employed by the Tri-County Co-Op for 15 years. She enjoyed her experience as a “team mom” for the Texas A&M University-Commerce men’s and women’s golf teams for 11 and a half years. Diane and her husband Louie moved to Commerce, Texas in 1990. In 2016, after 26 years in Commerce, they moved to Irving, Texas to be outside and work in the yard and her flower beds, read mysteries, work crossword puzzles, and listen to Elvis Presley recordings. Diane is survived by her husband of 59 years, Louie; daughter, Lisa Beatty (Bryan) and their 3 children, Caley, Shea, and Delanina of Duncanville, Texas; daughter, Laurie Bledsoe of Irving, Texas; son, James E. Bledsoe (Amy) and their 4 children, Cody, Jacob, Jada, and Lexi of Crandall, Texas; and numerous cousins. Diane was a very great and special lady. She was loved and respected by all that knew her, In accordance with and respect for her wishes, there will be no services held. Please make donations in Diane’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Dallas Chapter.
