Liddiard, Vinnie M.

Vinnie Martha Griffis Liddiard was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on November 23, 1951. She passed away in the evening of February 14, 2019.

Vinnie was the only child to Floreine Griffis Hulsey and Wendell Griffis. She grew up in Wichita Falls and enjoyed being a part of several extra curricular groups.  She was an awarded swimmer and flute player throughout her youth.  Vinnie graduated from Wichita Falls High School and later earned a Bachelor’s degree in business.  She worked as a paralegal for law firms located in Fairbanks, Alaska as well as Dallas and Wichita Falls before retiring and traveling the world with the love of her life, David Liddiard.

Vinnie has two sons whom she loved dearly. Shawn Sterling Sutherland and his wife, Kathy, have a daughter, Elizabeth. Jeffrey Scott Sutherland and his wife, Teresa, have a daughter, Madison.  Vinnie adored her granddaughters and spoke of them often to her friends.

Vinnie was a devoted mother who spent much of her young adult life cheering on her sons as they participated in many school functions and sporting events. She enjoyed hunting and camping with friends. Vinnie was a huge sports fan, most noted for her love of the Dallas Stars.  She was a season ticket holder for more than a decade and attended every game she could, even if it meant traveling to California to watch her favorite team.

She is survived by her sons and their families, her step-sister Robyn Hulsey Fischer, her niece Judy Fischer Love and husband James Love, and her great nieces Haely Love Ryland and husband Justin and their daughter Raely, Ashtyn Love Resar and husband Travis.
