I will Dave. He always made me laugh with his dry whit and charm. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Geocaching will never be the same without him.
Thanks letting me be one of the lucky people to know you, Geodee!
David was one of the greatest guys I ever knew. So many geocaching events I would see him at. Only a few times did I get the honor to cache with him. Many of emails were traded. Many of caches I never would’ve found without him.
One of the best. He will so be missed. Love you Dave.
Dee, you always impressed me. It was an honor to know you and to spend time with you on the occasions that brought us together. You will be greatly missed in the geocaching community.
I’m going to miss you, Dave. Rock on, brother. – Coach Greg
You will be truly missed and always have a special place in our hearts.
I am so sorry for The loss of David (geodee). Geocaching lost a good friend.
Shocking! RIP.
So sorry to hear of David’s passing. Going to miss GOD. He was such a big part of Geocaching. To his family and friends I can only say my heart goes out to you. I pray that he is in a better place at the feet of Jesus. Maybe he has found his Brigadoon.

I met David (GeoDee) about 10 years ago while looking for a Geocache. He was always a gentleman and a scholar. I’m sad to hear of his passing.
The first time I met Dave at an event he was a scary character, but after getting to know him I realized what a gentle giant he was with a super creative mind. He will be missed for sure.
I feel fortunate to have known David for most of my first 10 years of geocaching. He was always intelligently humorous and kind-hearted.
Dave, we will miss your random dropping by for a glass of ice tea during Texas’ hot summer geocaching. We will drop a clothes pin, magnetic letter, penny, or DNF for you, GeoDee. SandbassKing & Queen
I never had the honor of meeting GeoDee, he was a legend in the geocaching community and we mourn his passing.
I first met Geodee while out caching with my Daughter. He was one of those people that was very insightful and you always took something away from conversations with him. He will be missed.
Martin and I met Dave at one of the first events we went to when we first started geocaching. He was such an interesting guy and it was always a treat to run into him on the trail. It always made me smile when I found a magnetic letter or a cloths pin in a cache because I knew Geo Dee had been there. You will be missed Dave.
GeoDee – one of the most memorable geocachers I have ever met. I will always remember the first time I met Dave. It was at a cache in Rowlett – a tree climb. I was at GZ looking around and made the spot. The cache was about 30 feet up the tree. I was trying to figure out what to do – if I was going to climb the tree or not, when I heard a voice approach. It was Dave. He was recording his log into a recorder, and describing his experience as he approached the tree. We exchanged introductions and I pointed out the cache. In a blink of an eye… Dave was scaling the tree, and soon had the cache in hand. He graciously allowed me to sign the log without having to climb! We chatted a little while longer and then he was off. I will always remember that encounter so many years ago.
I always enjoyed chatting with Dave at events, and even other times we have met along the trail. He had kind words to share and always had a few interesting stories to tell.
You will be missed Dave. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet you. I am sadden by your passing and know you will be missed.
Thanks for being part of my geo-experience!
GeoDee, you are missed for sure. Glad to have had the chance to meet you and experience your wit. Your penny placement was always a favorite of mine. I even found a cache once where I was FTF and the CO had already put a penny in it! RIP kind sir.
Dave, you were one of the first people I met when I started geocaching in 2005. I thought you were an icon and a hero and it stayed that way. Your humility and humor set an example for all of us. You will be missed.
The obituary is so like David. Simple and unassuming. An enigmatic character, David was a legend and an icon of North Texas geocaching. He will be missed.
