Morrow, Thomas Wayne
Obituary
On Friday, June 21, 2019, Thomas Wayne Morrow, loving husband and beloved father of four children, passed away at the age of 79. He was born February 26, 1940 in Delta, KY to Roy and Eva Morrow. He grew up in Amherst, Ohio where he worked in the apple orchards and was a standout basketball player for Firelands High School. He met Judy, his future wife, at a Youth For Christ moonlight cruise on Lake Erie and married her two years later on September 24, 1960. Together, they raised four children, Tom, Tim, Tammy, and Trina. Wayne received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from General Motors Institute in 1963 and later received his Master’s Degree in Commercial Science from Rollins College. While he moved several times in his early career as an electrical engineer, it was always important to him to find a good church home for his family in each city where he lived. The family settled in Rowlett, Texas in 1977 and became members of the First Baptist Church of Rowlett where he served for many years as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, and member of the church choir. Most recently, he attended services at the Highland Springs Retirement Community. His faith was very important to him and his favorite book in the Bible was the book of John. Wayne was also an avid Dallas Cowboys football fan and held season tickets with his son, Tim, for many years. They cheered the Cowboys to victory at Super Bowl XXVII in Pasadena, CA. He often bought tickets from neighboring seat holders so he could invite family and friends to the games. Wayne is survived by his wife, Judy; son Tom Morrow and his wife Lisa; son Tim Morrow and his wife Raquel; daughter Tammy Vigil and her husband Adrian; and daughter Trina Morrow and her husband Brendan; his grandchildren Danny, Mandy, TJ, Jetta, and Julian, and great-grandson Noah; and by his sisters, Shirleen Abraham and Beverly Williams. Wayne was preceded in death by his sisters, Wanda Lee Morrow and Darla Granneman, his brother Dale Morrow, and his grandson, Travis McKee. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the Highland Springs Retirement Community, 8000 Frankford Road, Dallas, TX 75252.
