Obituary
Retired Chief Petty Officer Johnny R. Braswell, age 62, died of complications due to pancreatic cancer on June 24th, 2019, in Bedford, Texas. Mr. Braswell is survived by his spouse of 43 years, Ms. Lisa Braswell, of Bedford, Texas; his daughter, Tabitha Johnson, and her two daughters Cherakee and Lakota, of Bedford, Texas; his son, Johnny Braswell II, and his wife Gabrijela, of Saginaw, Texas; his brother Tony Braswell, and his wife Kobe and daughter Vana, of Houston, Texas; and his brother, Eddie Braswell, and his daughters Misty and Chastity, of Waco, Texas. He is preceded in death by his mother, Virgina Braswell and his father, Robert Braswell. Mr.Braswell was born on October 29, 1956 in Dallas, Texas, to parents Robert and Virginia Braswell. He enlisted into the United States Navy in 1973 where he participated in the campaigns for Vietnam and the First Gulf War, achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He participated in Seabees and Hovercraft programs. During this time he was stationed in Oceanside, California; Pensacola, Florida; 32nd Street, San Diego; and the Naval Amphibious Base in Cornado, California. He retired in October 1994, he moved to Bedford, Texas and later accepted a position in the commercial transportation industry. Mr. Braswell was a great family man and a loving father and grandfather. He married Lisa Freeman in February 1976 and the couple had two children together. He enjoyed Texas sports, fishing, and military history. His family and friends will always remember him as a personable and caring person. A funeral is scheduled for 10:30 am on July 2, 2019, at Dallas- Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Tx 75211. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mr. Braswell’s life.
