Barnard, Robert

February 9, 1993 - June 25, 2013

Robert Michael Thomas Barnard came in to the world on February 9, 1993 in Longview, Texas. He was named after his maternal grandfather, Robert, and his paternal grandfather, Thomas, and since Michael was one of his mother’s favorite names, it became a second middle name.

He was sweet-natured, curious, and a joy as a child growing up in Plano, Texas. There, Robert enjoyed soccer and basketball and loved to play video games. During those years, Robert also developed a love of skateboarding and would spend hours perfecting his techniques and practicing ollies and kick flips. As Robert grew older, he developed a razor-sharp wit and a dry sarcasm that would keep everybody laughing. He was a gentle soul and never judgmental of anyone. Robert loved his family dearly and their time spent together and they will carry those precious memories with them forever. Robert made several friends and kept them close in his thoughts and heart. Robert graduated Plano East Senior High School in 2011. On June 25, 2013, Robert passed away too soon.

He is survived by his mother, Joni Ann Rodgers, his father, Craig Thomas Barnard and his siblings, Kimberly Ann Foard, Ashley Christine Barnard and Jason Thomas Barnard, and his many loving relatives. Robby is missed by his family and friends who will cherish his memory.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Aria Memorial Chapel 19310 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas 75252 on Friday, June 28th 2013, at 2pm.

Arrangements are under the direction of ARIA Cremation Service and Funeral Home 19310 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas 75252, 214-306-6700.

Rachel Gormley says:

Robby… I have not stopped thinking about you.

Although most of my thoughts about his passing are filled with sadness, I still can’t help but think about the good times him and I had together. There was one time that Robby came with me to the pet store and bought about 5 fish for my fish tank. The fish ended up dying in less than 12 hours. We had always laughed about how they didn’t even manage to live for a full 24 hours. Haha. Just a few weeks ago I told him I was buying a tarantula. He joked to me that I shouldn’t get it because it would die too soon, just like the fish. He also wrote on my Facebook, “Rachel kills anything she touches”… haha. So anyway, I decided to name my spider after him.
I miss Robby so much. My thoughts and prayers go out to Robby’s family.. I know this is extremely hard. I wish he was still here. He was worth so much more, and he made so many people happy. Robby was always kind to me. He even told me that he would do anything to help me if I needed it. My heart is broken for Robby and his family, and I will always continue to miss him. A day will not pass when I don’t think of him. I love you Robby. You’re the most wonderful angel up there.

Holly Ratcliff says:

I love you. I still think of you nearly every day. I wish we could go to the park and talk about things.

I will always miss you. I will always love you. I’ll keep writing about you. I’ll write something good for you and I won’t ever forget our friendship.

Eric Hammer says:

Robby would have just wanted everyone to stop having bad vibes all the time. He’s still with all of us. I never once felt like, and have faith that I know I will never, not for one second, feel like him and I ever stopped being friends. Sometimes I think about his voice in my head and what he would say in a certain situation, or what advice he would give me with a girl or something. His energy, personality, and spirit are still helping me become a stronger person each day. I love you, man. I’ll see you later lol

Excellent customer service, they made you feel like you were their only customer. Very helpful and explained what we should expect during the process. They basically took care of our needs during this time. They contacted DFW National Cemetery for us which made it a smooth experience. Definitely will use them again.
