Obituary
William Clay Coakley, age 87, died at his home in Dallas, TX on September 21, 2019. Born January 26, 1932 in Merrill, Oregon, Bill grew up in Tulelake, CA, Fallon, NV and Kansas City, MO. He met the love of his life, Jane Sennott, in Kansas City and they were married on August 25, 1956 in Jefferson City, MO. Bill went to work at S&C Electric Company as a Sales Specialist in Kansas City and in 1960 he was transferred to Chicago, IL. Bill and Jane lived in Hoffman Estates, IL until they retired in 1994 when they became full time motor homers. They enjoyed traveling the country, visiting friends and family, and volunteering at various state and local parks. Bill & Jane settled in Fredericksburg, TX in 2003 until due to Bill’s failing health they moved to Dallas to be closer to their family. Two years ago, Jane and Bill moved to Signature Pointe where they have many friends. Bill is survived by his wife, Jane, children Barbara and her husband Rick Casadone, Richard, Ron and his wife Linda (Bailey), Marie and her husband Al Herzfeld, John and his wife Agnes Grodzik, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and his brother and sister-in-law John Leonard and Jane (Ratcliff) Coakley and many nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents John Leonard and Helen Elizabeth (Struck) Coakley and his brother and sister-in-law, James Stephen and Charlene Grace (Lineberry) Coakley, and his sister-in-law, Dolores Mae (Keegan) Coakley. Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a Boy Scout Leader, avid square-dancer, he enjoyed reading, fishing, camping and motor-homing. He volunteered at the theater and the hospital in Fredericksburg, TX. A Memorial Service will be held at North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, TX 75234 at 10 am on Friday, September 27, 2019. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 8787 N Stemmons Freeway, Suite 800, Dallas, TX 75247.
