Obituary

David was 46 years old born in Irving, Texas, and was a 37 year resident of Cedar Hill, Texas.  David attended Cedar Hill schools and graduated Valedictorian of the Class of 1985.  He went on to attend Texas A&M University for two years and then completed his Bachelor of Science in Accounting Degree at the University of Texas at Arlington.

David was employed by Affiliated Computer Services, a Xerox Company, as a software support accountant.
David is survived by father Ed Boyce and step-mother Alada Boyce, mother Linda Hall and stepfather Hermann Bockelmann.  Sisters Amanda Boyce Finger and spouse Aaron, Maggie Boyce Hollis and spouse Zack.  Step-brother Tim Hall, Jr. and step-sister Leslie Hall Montesantos.  Brother and sister by choice Matt Taylor an Jennifer Bothwell.
He leaves the light of his life in his  beloved nieces and nephew.  They are Paige Thomison, Haleigh Boyce Hollis, Alleigh Hollis, Lola Finger and Asa Hollis.
David also had a countless number of friends that will sorely miss him.
David was a member of The Cowboy Church of Ellis County.
He was a volunteer for the ministry Hidden Miracles – Respite Night.  This is a program that enables parents of special needs children to have a night out.  The parents bring  their special needs child and their siblings to the church for an evening of loving child care and games.  David knew how much this meant to parents to have this opportunity.  David had a special needs niece and felt this  was his ministry.   He always looked forward to Respite Night.

Condolences to Dave’s Family – He often talked of his sisters and nieces. My fondest memory of Dave, of course, was paired with laughter, at work when he’d fall asleep, I’d put my shoe under his nodding head. When he woke up, he’d throw my shoe back at me. I loved his poetry and our deep conversations of what heaven would be like, of which, I’m selfishly sorry he’s witnessing at such a young age. I’ll miss you buddy.

I can hardly remember my life without David. We have shared so many wonderful times together. We grew up together and were growing old together! I am sad that he is no longer with us but what a reunion it will be when we meet again! He is flying high with the angels. My deepest condolences to all of the Boyce family. Each of you meant so much to David. He always told me so.

David was so very much to me. He touched my work life, my personal life, my family and friends. He was my rock when needed and mostly he was my smile when mine didn’t seem to work. I love him very much. He is my Friend!!

"Nothing prepares you for the grief you go through when losing a child. I called this funeral home at 2:00 am broken and could barely talk. The amount of compassion and empathy they showed me immediately let me know I found the right place to cremate my son. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, SINCERE concern, and commitment to making sure my son was honored in the most respectful way. I hope this Funeral home values her as much as my family and I do."

"I can’t say enough about how helpful and professional Dusty Martin, the funeral director at the Aria Cremation location on NW Highway has been. From my initial call, he was kind and informative. My friend died at home while on hospice and she was picked up in about an hour after receiving the call from the hospice nurse. The person who arrived to pick her up was also very professional/respectful and allowed us to take as much time with her as we wished. When I met with Dusty the next day about arrangements, he explained the process and options available without being pushy or trying to “sell” extras. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and, for example, was careful to be certain I understood the cost of the obituary I wanted and offered some options for reducing that cost if I wished. When I stopped by for another reason and started talking about some of the problems I was having with the pictures and media I hoped to use at a memorial lunch I was planning, he not only listened patiently but offered technology advice and let me use his personal media player. I have had experience arranging cremations for four others using two other local companies, and this experience with Dusty at Aria has been by far the best one I have had."

"My Daddy’s service and our family experience at Aria Northwest Highway was truly blessed. Funeral Director Dustin Martin is the kind of person that you would like to see on a more regular basis – but in his industry – you hope to not see him that often. That being said – THANK YOU DUSTIN for your unending kindness, compassion and friendship through the process. Meeting you and discussing Dallas History, Find A Grave and my Dad’s lifelong contributions to the great City of Dallas was simply wonderful! In memory of my dad James A. Dodd, Sr. – I want to personally thank you and let you know that you made everything better in that moment. Your calling to “Be There” is spot on. Aria has a one in a million guy in you! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: God Bless You!!"
