Obituary
Margaret Mary Lewis Skalski, 82, entered into rest and peace Wednesday, October 9, 2019, after a lengthy illness. She was born on February 14, 1937 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin to Glenn and Elsie Lewis. She married Thomas E. Skalski on April 7, 1956 in Brooklyn, New York. They lived in Florida where she was office manager at Patricia Stevens Finishing & Business School in Winter Park, before moving to Houston and finally settling in Argyle, Texas in 1975 where she lived the majority of her life. Margaret had a passion for riding and showing Saddlebreds, Walking Horses and Arabians, which she shared with her four children. The Skalski Family owned and operated Tezmaral Arabians in Argyle. Margaret also bred German Shepherds, and many of her dogs won national champion status in Schutzhund & Herding. Margaret was a gifted artist, creating many oil paintings throughout her life for friends and family. She participated in art classes until the end of her life. She also loved playing Scrabble and would recruit anyone to play the game with her. She is preceded by her husband, Thomas Edward Skalski; her son, John Thomas Skalski and her brother, Glenn R. Lewis. She is survived by her daughters, Annamarie (John) Ferguson, Lisa (Ed Sunderland) Skalski and Wendy (Steven) Foster; five grandchildren, Caitlin Skalski (Mary Ellen Matter Skalski), Brenna Skalski, James Skalski (Sherri Skalski) Aubrey Foster and Conor Foster; and remembered with love by her many family and friends. Margaret’s Family wishes to thank all the staff and care companions who cared for her these past years, for all the love and attention they provided. Inurnment will take place during a private family service at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on Thursday, November 21st.
