Lombardi, Lucille Ann (Heraty)

Lucille Ann Lombardi (nee Heraty) died peacefully on October 14, 2019 at the age of 82 from lung disease.

Lucille is survived by her children Anna (Bill) Klosterman, Bill (Marcia) Lombardi, Kathy (Jeff) Waskow, and Christine Dunham; grandchildren Bradley and Marie Klosterman, Kristin and Kyle Waskow, Leo Lombardi; great-granddaughter Ella Klosterman and four brothers and sisters.  Lucille was preceded in death by her daughter Patricia Lombardi, her parents, and former husband William Lombardi.

Lucille was born on July 17, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Peter and Catherine Heraty and was the second of five children. Lucille married Bill Lombardi on August 30, 1958 and during their marriage they welcomed five children into their home.  Bill and Lucille moved throughout the Midwest, finally landing in Texas in 1982.   Throughout Lucille’s life she valued education and completed her college degree while raising five children.  Lucille later worked in the Real Estate industry.

Lucille’s faith, family and friends were very important to her.  She greatly treasured being a mother and grandmother.  Lucille loved to cook large meals for her family, read books, research her Irish heritage, work on Sudoku puzzles and share a good laugh.   Lucille participated in a study with Columbia University related to essential tremor.  Lucille had a generous heart and was always willing to help anyone in need.  Her smile will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Lucille’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on November 11th at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Plano.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association, Essential Tremor Foundation of America or Catholic Charities.

Lucille was my first true friend, beginning on Montana Street in Chicago before 6th grade at St. Genevieve School. In recent years we kept in touch. I am very saddened by the news of her passing.

Aunt Lucille will be dearly missed. I remember growing up and always hoping that when my parents went away on a trip, that my Aunt Lucille would be the one to babysit us. Loved to visit Aunt Lucile and the Lombardi's especially when they lived in Kansas City. I don't think I ever remember anything but kind words from my Aunt Lucille and I know she will be with God for eternity.
