Obituary
Billie (Bill) Joe Skinner, of Bedford, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 24th at home from pancreatic cancer. He will be remembered as a loving husband , father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He was born on November 25, 1930 in Slidell, Texas to Tom and Frances Skinner. Bill served in the Korean War providing communication lines to the battle front. After the war, he worked for 37 years at Southwestern Bell Telephone and went to night school during that time to earn a BA degree from Hardin Simmons University. Upon early retirement, He then started his own business installing home phones and business phone systems. He was an active member of Shady Oaks Baptist Church. Bill was a avid hunter and fisherman. Bill is survived by his wife Robbie of 64 years, his son Randy and wife Shari, his grandchildren Crystal and husband Aaron, Melanie and husband Kyle and great grandchildren Ava and Hunter, his sister Joyce, nieces Carla, Beverly and husband Zeke, Dana and husband Robert and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Frances, brother Richard and sisters, Louise and Ola Mae. Funeral will be at Shady Oaks Baptist Church in Hurst on Friday November 1, 2019 at 9:00am. Burial will follow at the DFW National Cemetery in Grand Prairie at 11:30am. Arrangements under the direction of: Aria Cremation Service and Funeral Home 1820 N.
