Obituary
Judy Ann Swindal born March 12, 1943 in Purdon Texas died in Plano, Texas at the age of 77 on January 29, 2020 from Parkinson’s disease. Judy was a resident of Frisco, Texas for the last several years of her life but also had lived in Corsicana, Dallas, Irving, Frisco and Plano. Judy Swindal was born to Raymond and Effie King and grew up on her parents farm for most of her childhood until the family moved to Corsicana. She was the youngest sibling out of six. Upon graduating from high school, she moved to Dallas Texas where she worked her first job at a bank in Downtown Dallas. Shortly thereafter, she met and married Larry Sample in 1962 whom she had two children with , Lisa and Troy. In 1967, she moved to Irving where she raised her children and later ended up working for many years for manufacturer’s sales representatives at the World Trade Center in Dallas, Texas. Judy was remarried twice after the birth of her children. Her second husband Raymond Sutton, was an Army helicopter pilot who passed away a few years later from cancer in 1981. Years later she met and later married James Swindal, a sales executive for DIRECTV, who also passed of Cancer in 2013. Judy was very proud that both of her children got their college degrees from the University of North Texas. Judy enjoyed her dogs; Bandit, Chaucer, Butch, Bruno, Brutus and Phoebe. Judy was also a magnificent gardener and cook, winning 2nd prize with her chocolate pie, which was a family favorite during the holidays. And Judy loved ALL holidays including decorating the house for all of them. She was blessed with four grandchildren; Austin, Chloe, Lila and Aliza. Judy’s life came a long way from living on a small farm to her comfortable home in Frisco. Judy was lovingly cared for during her fight with Parkinson’s by family friend Laura Cortese. Our family is thankful for her love and commitment. Judy Swindal was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Effie, five brothers and sisters Bernard King, Robert King, Fred King, Lois Vest, and Berniece Tobias, and her husband James Swindal. She is survived by her children Lisa Bellah and husband Quinton and Troy Sample and wife Dawn. Four grandchildren and Austin, Chloe, Aliza and Lila. She is also survived by nieces and nephews who were like siblings when growing up with her including Nona Bailey, Connie Young, Benny Johnson and Cindy Phillips. The Memorial Service for Judy Ann Swindal will be Saturday February 22nd from 1PM to 4PM at Joe T Garcias, 2201 N. Commerce Street Fort Worth Texas 76164.
